8 Ways to Enjoy WDW as a Couple

Thinking about leaving the kids behind for your next trip to Walt Disney World? Don’t worry! Disney offers many different types of experiences that couples will enjoy doing together. So, drop the kids at Grandma & Grandpa’s house, and enjoy a fun getaway full of Disney magic!

Here are eight ways my husband and I love to spend our time together at Disney World:

1) Take in a Game at the ESPN Club

My husband and I happen to love sports. So, it makes sense that this is one of our favorite restaurants to hang out in and watch a game. Located at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort, this restaurant has a casual atmosphere, a full bar, and awesome food!

2) Scream Like Kids on the Roller Coasters

Let’s face it…fast rides are fun! So, stop acting like adults and scream together as you ride some of the best attractions Disney has to offer. My favorite rollercoaster is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, while my husband loves Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom.

3) Eat & Drink Your Way through Disney World

There are a ton of excellent restaurants and bars throughout Disney World. For us, we love to spend the day at Epcot in the World Showcase. Most of the countries in the World Showcase have either a table service restaurant or a quick service counter offering cuisine unique to their culture. We love to visit San Angel Inn Restaurante in Mexico for a romantic, quiet meal. The food is always excellent and it feels like you are dining in a quaint, Mexican village.

4) Explore Your Resort

Often times, we are so busy exploring the parks that we forget to relax and enjoy time at the resort. Don’t be afraid to schedule a whole day to spend exploring your resort. Disney’s resorts have everything to offer from refreshing pools, spas, shopping, running trails, etc. We always love to take a long walk around the resort at sunset.

5) Shopping, Shopping, and More Shopping

Ok ladies…so, this might be a hard one to convince your husband to join in on. But, I have good news! Disney World has a store on every corner…literally. My favorite place to shop is Downtown Disney. But, it isn’t just about shopping. There are restaurants, entertainment, and special events as well. Since my husband likes a little “friendly” competition, we love to go bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes. Once we are done bowling, my husband enjoys sitting in Crossroads at House of Blues to listen to the live music while I stroll through the shops.

6) Enjoy a Show

While you are at Downtown Disney, I highly suggest getting tickets for La Nouba by Cirque de Soleil. I have seen a couple other Cirque de Soleil shows, and La Nouba is just as good, if not better! Built specifically for the show, the theatre looks like a circus tent on the outside, and has a huge, elaborate stage on the inside. It is quite an experience!

7) Resort Hop

I will admit…this one may take a little planning. It is so worth it though! My husband and I love to start at our resort, hop on Disney transportation, and explore other resorts. Mix it up by trying all the different options…boat, monorail, and bus! This one is especially fun during the Holidays as all of the resorts have elaborate decorations. My favorite find is the life-size Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Make sure you buy a gingerbread shingle to share! They are yummy!

8) Take a Tour

One of the great things about being an adult at Disney World, is that you are allowed special “behind the scenes” access for some incredible tours. Some of the most popular tours are: Keys to the Kingdom Tour, Wild Africa Trek, and Behind The Seeds. All of these tours will give you and your sweetie a different perspective of what Disney World has to offer!
