With 100+ restaurants on the Walt Disney World property, a first time visitor can get overwhelmed with all of the options! As a fan of Disney dining, I have a few tried and true restaurants that I suggest to all first time visitors!

  1. Chef Mickey’s

Here you can dine with Mickey and the gang – including Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto! I’m not huge on buffets, but I really enjoy this one! Available meal times are breakfast, brunch and dinner.

What to get: If you come for breakfast or brunch – Mickey waffles, of course!

Location: Disney’s Contemporary Resort

  1. Ohana

This is one of the most popular restaurants in Disney World! Breakfast features not only a few of Mickey’s pals, but also Lilo and Stitch – one of the only places to find them at Disney World! Dinner is a feast and an all you can eat buffet of Hawaiian inspired goodness.

What to get: If you don’t mind missing characters, come for dinner and be sure to add the Pineapple Bread Pudding to your plate – you won’t regret it.

Location: Disney’s Polynesian Resort

  1. Be Our Guest Restaurant

BeourGuest

Where else can you dine in the picture perfect ballroom from Beauty and the Beast?! Breakfast and lunch are considered a quick service credit if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, while dinner is a table service credit and gives you the opportunity to meet The Beast himself in his study after your meal!

What to get: Believe it or not, you CAN order The Grey Stuff for dessert (which Lummiere insists is delicious, and trust me – it is!).

Location: Disney’s Magic Kingdom

  1. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

Scifi

Hands down, my favorite restaurant as far as theme goes! This unique restaurant is themed as an old school drive-in theater, where you eat dinner in “cars” facing a giant movie screen that plays old movie clips and cartoons!

What to get: Grilled Chicken BLT has been my favorite menu item on my last few visits!

Location: Disney’s Hollywood Studios

  1. California Grill

This restaurant has the best view of the Magic Kingdom! An entire wall of windows lines the restaurant giving the perfect view of Wishes in the evening. There’s also an observation deck that pipes in the music for a perfect view of the nightly fireworks show! While children are more than welcome here, this is one I typically reserve for adult-only vacations, and you’ll find it to be a more adult atmosphere than most Disney restaurants.

What to get: The Seafood Ramen and the sushi selection are fantastic choices.

Location: Disney’s Contemporary Resort
