You will go bananas, bananas, bananas over the Desplicable me 3-D simulation at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. We love the Desplicable Me movie so we were really excited about this attraction. This ride was so much fun!
I have to say Universal played up the details for this ride. I thought the exterior of the building was fun and creative. The waiting area was decorated to resemble the inside of Gru’s home. You start the experience by standing in a holding area and watching an adorable clip of Gru and his family. My family found this part very amusing. You are being recruited to become a minion and left in the care of Gru’s daughters. As you can imagine, you will run into a few issues along the way when things don’t go quite as they were planned. You then enter a large theater area where you are seated for the simulation portion of this experience. You will definitely encounter some ups, downs, turns, and bumps as you explore the crazy world of mischievous minions. For those that are prone to motion sickness, stationary seating is available in the front. You must be at least 40 inches to ride the simulation ride.
When you exit this ride, you will enter another area where there is a minion dance party. We were able to have a memorable photo moment with one of the lovable minions. This area exits into a Despicable Me gift shop where you can grab a keepsake to take home with you. The minion t-shirts seemed to be a big hit when we were there.
This ride will be a fun adventurous ride for the entire family. I definitely recommend it to everyone that visits Universal Studios!!
