Without the guidance of a travel agent most people become confused with all the different elements that make up the perfect Disney vacation. We want our clients to be included in every detail, but never overwhelmed or frustrated during the process. After making their initial resort reservation I’m always asked the same question “What’s Next?” Well take a deep breath, take out a notepad and keep reading!
Your first step now is to visit StartYourDisneyExperience.com and set up an account if you don’t already have one. Upon logging in you will need your reservation number so that you can link your reservation to your account. With this account you can make dining reservations, Fastpass+ selections, and customize your MagicBands. Additionally, download the “My Disney Experience” app onto your phone or tablet so that you can familiarize yourself with all its tools. This way while you are on vacation you will be a master at navigating the app.
One of the biggest decisions to make is deciding on what restaurants to dine in and this where having a knowledgeable travel agent to help guide you really makes a difference with more than 100 restaurants to choose from. Advance dining reservations for resort guests can be made 180 days prior to check in plus you can book an additional 10 days. Many restaurants book the day they become available, so it’s important to do research ahead of time so when this important date arrives you and your agent are prepared. Also during this time most special events can be booked such as the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party or Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage just to name a few.
Another factor is driving versus flying-If you choose to fly did you know Disney offers FREE round trip airport transportation and luggage service called Disney’s Magical Express? Upon landing at Orlando International Airport you can skip baggage claim and advance to the Magical Express Welcome Center where you will be directed to a corresponding bus according to the resort you are staying at. Then magically while your family is out enjoying Disney property your luggage will arrive to your room within 3 hours. Does it get any better than that?
As the vacation grows closer your final choices come at 60 days prior to check in, when you can customize your MagicBands by selecting a color and making your Fastpass+ selections. Disney has implemented a lot of new technology throughout the property they are calling MyMagic+ and an important tool in this are the MagicBands. These bands worn on your wrist are your room key, park ticket, room charge, dining plan and memory maker photo package. In addition to the bands, Disney allows you to select 3 Fastpasses for select attractions per park per day, allowing to you bypass the standby line.
