IlMulinoPinnalbe

The Il Mulino is a charming Old World Italian Restaurant located in the Walt Disney World Swan Resort. It is also an out-of-the-way place to grab a night-before pasta dinner for your Princess Half Marathon Weekend! (or any runDisney race)

The Restaurant:

Located in the lobby of the Swan Resort, you will find a lively restaurant and bar modeled after its New York Bistro counterpart. The Il Mulino is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Walt Disney World that you can leave the busy day behind and enjoy a relaxing dinner.

It is always a plus to have the option of ordering from the Bar, and the Il Mulino provides this service with the same attention to your needs as in the dining room.

The Menu:

The fare is modeled after the Abruzzi Region of Italy, which is located in the mountains along the Adriatic. Abruzzi cuisine is known for simple foods, hearty meals and cooking over an open wood fire.

For Appetizers you will find an assortment of Antipasti including Italian Rice Balls, Portobellos, Prosciutto, Parmigiano and Italian Meatballs to name a few.

For your main course, you will be offered a great range of Beef Tenderloin, Veal, Chicken and Pasta along with an amazing choice of Italian wines to compliment your meal!

Of course, no meal is complete without our favorite Italian Desserts, including Gelato, Cheesecake, Tiramisu, and Flourless Chocolate Cake!

Getting There and Back:

It is just a short walk to and from the Swan from Epcot or from Hollywood Studios via the Boardwalk.

The Friendship Boats are also available; however, they leisurely navigate the waters and you might just beat them back by walking!

Carb Loading for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend:

Even though it isn’t on the Disney Dining Plan, reservations are highly suggested. It isn’t as popular as the Italian Restaurants in Epcot, so you may even get a last minute reservation as I did the week before the Princess Half Marathon.

After hitting the runDisney Health and Fitness Expo, I decided to visit my favorite park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is an easy walk to the Boardwalk and then to the Swan from Hollywood Studios; so 30 minutes before my reservation, I headed out the park.

As I walked to the Boardwalk, I was able to stop and enjoy the 7pm Fantasmic fireworks from a distance!

For Dinner, I reviewed their great pasta offerings, and had the Manicotti. No wine tonight for this runner, so I ordered Italian Sparkling water and enjoyed every drop! And finished my meal with my favorite dessert, Tiramisu!

I strolled back to Hollywood feeling comfortably full. The rush to leave the park had waned, and I hopped right on the bus to my resort!
