We’re already covered the many reasons that staying on property at the Universal Resort is the way to go. In case you missed it, the perks include early park admission to Wizarding World of Harry Potter, resorts walking distance from both parks, merchandise delivery, Universal Express Unlimited and many other great advantages.

The top resort on property is Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. This hotel celebrates la dolce vita (the sweet life) and transports you from Florida to Portofino, Italy. You’ll find cobblestone streets and outdoor cafes (that even feature outdoor opera singers).

In the lounge, you’ll find complimentary tea, coffee and soft drinks throughout the day as well as continental breakfast, afternoon break snacks, evening hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, “Something sweet” each night as well as computer access and a TV viewing area and a board games lending library.

Portofino Bay is home to numerous dining (and drinking) options. There are quick service options like the Gelateria and Splendido Pool Bar & Grill, authentic Italian dining at Mama Della’s and Trattoria del Porto, and one of the finest dining locations on property – Bice Ristorante. Many of the dining options offer outdoor seating as well as indoor, again, transporting you to the cafes of Italy.

The recreation options at Portofino Bay are more than just pools and a fitness center. Portofino Bay is home to the opulent Mandara Spa. Mandara is a full service spa featuring massages, skin care, body treatments, nail care, steam/sauna as well as a full-service fitness center. The fitness center can be accessed for a daily fee and offers Cardio Theater, free weights, exercise machines, lockers and a steam and sauna room. The spa offers treatments for guests ages 13 and up. (A parent/guardian must stay with guests ages 13-17).

There are three pools on property – a Beach Pool, a Villa Pool and a Hillside pool. The Beach Pool is a family paradise with an aqueduct-styled water slide, an adjacent children’s pool (that is completely fenced), poolside activities and weekly dive-in movies. The Villa Pool offers a more exclusive feel and upgraded amenities such as private cabanas available for rent. The Hillside Pool offers a more private pool escape.

The best part about staying on property at Universal Orlando is complimentary Universal Express Unlimited. You have access to skip the regular lines in both theme parks (as long as you have park admission).
