Christmas is my favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World. The spirit of Christmas is spread throughout the parks and resorts. Holiday joy is everywhere you turn. All the parks are beautifully decorated, but my favorite is the Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party is my absolute favorite event to attend all year. This event is so magical and really puts my family into the Christmas spirit.

As for my favorite resort during the holidays it is hard to pick one. In my opinion all the resorts are just amazing during the holidays. From the values to the deluxe resorts, each resort has a unique touch on the holidays. I have narrowed down my top two picks.

My top pick is The Wilderness Lodge. The massive Christmas tree in the lobby is just breath taking. It is said to be over 60 feet high. The ambiance of Christmas is throughout The Wilderness Lodge. The wreath above the grand fireplace is beautiful and a great photo op. There are several Christmas trees throughout the lobby. The rustic charm combined with the Christmas décor makes The Wilderness Lodge my favorite resort during the holidays.

Number two on my list is The Grand Floridian Resort. The Victorian themed resort is decorated with multiple Christmas trees and wreaths. My favorite thing to see at The Grand Floridian during Christmas it the larger than life Gingerbread house. It stands 16 feet high and was first displayed in 1999. Disney pastry chefs have been building the same gingerbread house each year since 1999. It takes over 400 baking hours and two weeks of construction to build this amazing life-sized gingerbread house. It is a truly magnificent site to see.
