Polynesian Village Resort Studio Villa

2015-07-29T06:00:00-04:00July 29, 2015|Disney World|0 Comments

Aloha! I recently had the opportunity to stay in a brand new studio villa at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. Disney has made a few of the longhouses at the Polynesian Village Resort part of the Disney Vacation Club, Disney’s version of a time share. When not booked by DVC members the general public is able to book the villas and bungalows. As of now the over the water bungalows are booked solid with DVC members but the villas do have availability. I stayed in a garden view villa in the Moorea building which is conveniently located next to the [...]

Getting There – Driving vs. Flying to Walt Disney World

2014-02-10T07:00:00-05:00February 10, 2014|Disney Travel, Disney World|0 Comments

I’ve often heard it said that it’s not the destination that matters but the journey. I don’t think the person who came up with that has ever been to Disney. I often work with families who are trying to decide whether they should fly or drive to Disney. So, I thought I would share my perspective on the pros of both options. Obviously, some people will have to fly (shout out to my Alaskan and Canadian friends). But, many of you will have the option so here is my quick rundown of both options. I love both options for different [...]

Secrets of Epcot

2014-01-31T07:00:00-05:00January 31, 2014|Disney Travel, Disney World, Epcot|0 Comments

Now that we’ve taken a look at some of the Imagineering secrets and little known facts of the Magic Kingdom lands let’s hop on a monorail over and explore Epcot. Fun facts abound here as well! The sidewalks twinkle at night. Take the path to the right after the Spaceship Earth and you’ll see them. The gardens throughout Epcot are the most extensive in all of Walt Disney World and are cared for by a team of 700 horticulturists. Spaceship Earth is not a big golf ball! It is actually two separate spherical structures, one inside the other. The outside [...]

Monorail hours cut back for Magic Kingdom

2012-03-03T15:22:58-05:00March 3, 2012|Disney News, Disney World|0 Comments

StitchKingdom.com is reporting that the resort monorail will have its hours cut back in March due to the construction at the Grand Floridian Resort and for planned matinence. They are saying the resort monorail will be unavailable from 1130am to 6pm daily and that extra buses and boats will be running to get guests to the Magic Kingdom. This should not effect the Epcot monorail. There are also other websites and message boards reporting that the express monorail will also not be running. We will update this post with more news when we get it.

Change in monorail operating hours at Disney World

2011-07-11T20:00:09-04:00July 11, 2011|Disney News, Disney World|0 Comments

Disney announced a few days ago that they were making a change to the hours of operation of the monorail. I am hoping this means they are going to give it a "rest" and do some repairs to it. I feel that the addition of Bay Lake Tower has really put pressure on the system and now with Disney adding DVC to the Grand Floridian Resort I feel it will only get worse. This is just my opinion though.... Effective July 11, 2011, the Epcot Monorail will operate one hour after regular park close. The Magic Kingdom Monorail system will [...]
