WDW Character Dining Main

Character Dining at Walt Disney World is a lot of fun and a great way to meet some of your favorite characters saving valuable park time doing it during your dining time. Here are some tips for character dining at Walt Disney World and an overview of each restaurant, so you have all of them in one place for reference.

General Tips

Reservations – Table Service Dining opens 180 days in advance. Character Dining is very popular. Reserving early gives you the best chance to grab an open time before they fill up. Reservations can be made online at 6:00 AM EST or by phone at 7:00 AM EST.

Travel Time – Allow yourself plenty of travel time to get to your reservation. Give yourself at least 1 – 1 ½ hours to ensure you arrive on time for your reservation especially during busier times.

Dining Time – Plan 1 – 1 ½ hours for dining. Characters usually make it around the restaurant once each hour. If you plan to meet each character, be prepared to have a leisurely meal. This is a great way to recharge from all the walking and fun you are having at the parks.

Character Tips

  • If characters are close to your table, wait for them to visit before heading to the buffet.
  • Seat children on the ends or outside of the table for convenience to get to the characters for autographs and photos.
  • Have your camera out and ready to go.
  • Have autograph books open with a marker ready for characters to sign.
  • Character photos aren’t just for kids, adults can take pics with characters too!
