WDW Locker Rental Pinable

I am a be-prepared-for-anything girl. And a trip to Disney is no exception. I pack everything in my backpack because I don’t want to be caught and have to pay a high price at the parks. This includes bulky items such as a light jacket in case I get cold, my rain jacket in case it rains and an umbrella for defense against the sun. And if you include personal items, just-in-case medicines, wallet, everyone else’s stuff, and all those purchases, my backpack is bursting at the seams. The idea of having everything with me is great – except when you are trying to squeeze in on tight rides like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or the Rock ‘n Rollercoaster!

I found that a great solution is to utilize the storage lockers! The lockers require a small fee, but the freedom of feeling prepared and of not carrying around your backpack is worth every penny!

The lockers aren’t just for backpackers like me, they can hold your hat, coat and gloves since a cold Southern morning can turn into a balmy Florida afternoon, can store your costume for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, or store your swim stuff for your afternoon adventure at Typhoon Lagoon!

But, before you decide to rent a locker, here are a few important facts to know:

Size:

Each of the four theme parks has lockers available:

At Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios,

Locker Views

Small Lockers: 11″ high x 9″ wide x 16 ″deep

At Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios,

Large lockers are 17” high x 12″ wide x 22″ deep.

At the Animal Kingdom, the large lockers are 17″ high x 9″ wide x 16″ deep.

Large Lockers

TIP: A standard to large backpack will require a large locker. You want the locker to close securely and not damage any contents.

Price:

The prices for regular large and small lockers are the same at all four theme parks. Current prices are as follows:

Large Lockers: $14

Small Lockers: $12

$5 deposit is included in the cost and will be reimbursed when you return the key.

If you want to go from park to park in one day and utilize lockers in the different parks, just save your receipt, show it to the Cast Member when renting the next locker, and you will only pay the $5 deposit. (Which will be once again returned when you turn in the key)

Locker Store Your Receipt

TIP: Store your receipt in the locker so that you have it handy when returning the key.

Locations:

Each park has a convenient location to rent your locker!

Magic Kingdom – just inside the gate before you go under the train.

Epcot – at Camera Store across from Space Ship Earth

Animal Kingdom – next to the inside entrance to Rainforest Café

Hollywood Studios – at Crossroads of the World just inside the gate.

Locker Crossroad of the World

Safety:

Disney asks that you not store any valuables in the lockers: you store things at your own risk.

Of course, Disney surveillance is very good, but keep this idea in mind.

Accessibility

Handicapped lockers are available, clearly marked and are on the lower levels.

Availability

Lockers are only available during park hours: all lockers are cleaned out after the park closes each day. You may check Central Lost and Found if you failed to retrieve your belongings.

lostandfound

Please don’t rely on Lost and Found: be sure to stop by the lockers on your way out of the park.

The many reasons to use a locker are as varied as our personal Disney experiences. I would encourage you to try a locker on your next visit and see if they are as convenient for you as they are for my family!
