fantasmic lunch package (2)

One thing I’ve always wanted to see at Disney World is Fantasmic, Hollywood Studio’s nightly water and laser show, but I’d never taken the time to actually see it! Blame it on the long wait to get in or the lack of utilizing the new FastPass+ system, but I decided once and for all – next time I go to Disney, I’m going to see Fantasmic!

On my most recent trip to Walt Disney World, my husband and I decided to live a little and splurge on the Fantasmic Lunch Package. Boy, am I glad we did! The initial appeal of the package was that we would get a great meal and great seating for that night’s showing of Fantasmic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Once all was said and done, it was well worth the price!

For the Fantasmic Lunch or Dinner Package, you choose to eat a meal at one of three restaurants: Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, The Hollywood Brown Derby, or Hollywood and Vine. For our late lunch, we picked Mama Melrose since we LOVE Italian food!

We arrived about 20 minutes early to our 2:35 reservation, and waited to be seated for about 10 minutes. Upon being seated, we were told what all is included in the Fantasmic Package. At Mama Melrose, your package includes a non-alcoholic beverage, appetizer and an entrée per person, and then you get a dessert tray to share, as well as a bread basket with a tasty olive oil dipping sauce. It was a lot of food, but it was all SO yummy!

After we were done eating, our server brought us our special Fantasmic ticket and explained what to do when it was time to go see the show. She advised us to arrive approximately thirty minutes prior to the show (and since there were two shows that evening, our package reserved us seating at the first show of the night).

When we arrived at the amphitheater, we were directed to enter through the FastPass+ line, and from there, we were told to sit anywhere we wanted in the Sorcerer Mickey section. Because we arrived so early for the show, we had the entire section to pick from! We decided to sit about 15 rows from the front, since a Cast Member told us the first few rows get a little wet!

Prior to Fantasmic show time, there was a fun pre-show full of games, sing-alongs, and lots of jokes by the hilarious Cast Members hosting the show! Even though we weren’t traveling with children, this pre-show is a fantastic way to keep the little ones entertained during the thirty minute wait before the show starts!

Once Fantasmic started, we realized that we had truly perfect seats! The seats reserved for the Lunch and Dinner packages are directly in the middle of the amphitheater, allowing a perfect view of the show. To the right of our section was general seating (so you would sit in that section if you waited in the standby line to see the show), and to the left of our section was where they seated those with Fantasmic FastPasses.

The package cost $37.99 per adult (and $12.99 for children). I was a little hesitant to spend that much money on the package, since we didn’t have the Dining Plan and were paying out of pocket for our meals, but once I did some calculating, I realized that the package wasn’t going to cost us much more than we would spend ordering off the menu without the package! As a whole, not only did the delicious food make it worth it (and goodness, did they serve us a ton of food!), but the reserved seating section for the Lunch Package was out of this world! I would do this again a heartbeat! If you’ve ever contemplated doing the package, I say go for it! You will not regret it!
