I stayed at Coronado Springs Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort in March 2012 before sailing on the Disney Fantasy. The rooms were nice and I liked the color story over the older look they used to have but the rooms did feel small to me. (but I am used to staying at the Grand Floridian Resort) This resort was spread out and they have a large convention center. All I can say is FINALLY!! I love going to Disney and we don't spend alot of time in the room watching TV but when we do there lack of channel options is pretty bad. When I was at the Grand Floridian Resort in January the RPC CM's were telling us this was coming. As I was surfing the web today I was this posted in a thread on the DIS. Four Seasons breaks ground at Walt Disney World Resort

Grand Floridian Resort spa closing

The spa at the Grand Floridian will be closing September 19th. The spa confirmed this but offered no other news about re-opening at this time. UPDATE 8/5/11 Channing from Travel with the Magic posted on Facebook today that this most likely due to the DVC construction that will be happening at the Grand Floridian.

We can now book rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, a brand new Walt Disney World Value Resort opening in early Summer 2012. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Scheduled to open in May 2012, Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel promises to be the ultimate in family fun. This Value Resort is planned to feature over one thousand family suites, specially designed to accommodate up to six guests, as well as standard guestrooms. The Resort hotel will draw its inspiration from four classic Disney Animated films: The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Disney·Pixar's Finding Nemo and Cars. I truly love staying at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa when I travel to Disney, it has become a special place for my family. It is Disney's Flagship resort and offers a wide variety of activities and restaurants. It recently had it rooms updated and they have added cabanas to the main pool area. The cabanas are pricey but a very relaxing way to spend a day or even a half day. It is one stop from the Magic Kingdom via the monorail.
