It was exciting to plan our January 2021 vacation because this trip, for the first time, included family members from ages 9 to 84!  We needed just the right resort to fit everyone’s needs, and we found the right fit at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.  Not only does it have easy access to the Skyliner so that we could easily get to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but the rooms were spacious, and the activities were fun!

We had 4 adults and 2 children traveling. Due to the size of our group, we were split into 2 separate rooms. When traveling with multiple rooms, you will be given a “travel with” number to link the reservations together. Disney makes every effort to place the rooms traveling together near each other for an added convenience. This allowed my parents to have their privacy in a standard room, while my sister and I shared a Standard 5th Sleeper Room with the boys. We requested the rooms on the first floor since my father would be utilizing an ECV, and we were so pleased that Disney was able to accommodate our requests.  We were also pleased with the accessible room for my parents as it was on a corner and offered such amenities as handrails in the bathroom, and it was in a perfect location for charging my father’s ECV.

Our Standard 5th Sleeper Room was just around the corner from my parents. This room type offers a child-size pull-down bed, which was great for our group! It gives you a little extra sleep space to accommodate a larger group without having to upgrade to a suite or deluxe resort.  The 5th Sleeper Space isn’t designed for an adult, but my 9-year-old fit perfectly!  We were closest to the quiet pool and only a short walk to Fuentes del Morro, the main pool.  Despite a full day at the parks each day, my son begged to walk across the bridge every night to take advantage of the amazing water slide.

If swimming isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other activities to keep you engaged.  Adults might love the hot tub, Banana Cabana- the pool bar, relaxing in a hammock on the beach, sunrise/sunset viewing, or a stroll with your sweetheart through the beautifully landscaped grounds.  The kids and the whole family might love a game of ping pong, the kid’s play area, or an outdoor movie under the stars.  You can even do a little resort hopping to Disney’s newest resort, the Riviera Resort- a place that will call to mind the French and Italian Riviera.  It’s a short walk or ride on the Skyliner.

If you find yourself wanting a great snack or meal, the Centertown Market is a great option just inside the lobby at Old Port Royal.   We ate at Centertown market several times using the mobile ordering (insert pic), and it was so easy. I would enter our order in our room, select a time range to pick it up, walk over and check-in, and then the app would tell you which window to pick up your food.  Easy Peasy! I even ordered dinner while riding the Skyliner back from the park one night.  Mobile ordering was created to help with social distancing, and my hope is that it stays around for a long time.  It is so convenient, and it beats standing in line with your party trying to determine what everyone wants to eat.

There’s a Disney Resort for every family and budget, and I can help you pick just the right one for you!  My family had a memorable stay at Caribbean Beach.  It could be right for you, too!
