Food trucks… I love food trucks. What is not to love about delicious culinary delights that are served fast and from an awesomely decorated truck? The very first time I read of news that Disney was going to introduce food trucks to Downtown Disney I KNEW we would have to sample their offerings on our next trip!
The Namaste Café truck features “Tasty Explorations from Disney’s Animal Kingdom.” The artwork on the truck is definitely stunning. The colorful murals depict scenes that look very similar to what you would find in the Animal Kingdom. Choose from slow-cooked beef short ribs, tandoori shrimp, or butter chicken.
The Fantasy Fare truck features “Delightful Dishes from Disney’s Magic Kingdoms from around the world.” The design of the truck itself is spectacular. The circus theme is whimsical and fun. Choose from a hand dipped corn dog, croque monsieur (grilled ham and cheese), or glass noodle salad.
The Showcase of Flavors truck brings “The Best of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.” The following festival favorites are offered: pierogies, grass fed beef sliders and the famous lobster roll. Did I mention that this truck has wine? Not sure which wine will be the best with your lobster roll? No problem. The digital images on the menu will help you out with wine and food pairings.
The Superstar Catering truck features “A Star Studded menu.” This truck looks like it would fit right in at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is retro and fun! Choose from turkey sausage and golden raisin meatballs, spinach and feta beef meatball sandwich, or a lamb meatball flatbread.
After much deliberation and internet food stalking before our trip, I decided that in my heart of hearts I would HAVE to go with the corn dog. The corn dog is fashioned from the same recipe they use at Disneyland and it did not disappoint. Oh my delicious fried meat on a stick. The breading was well seasoned and gave the corn dog a nice crispy outside. The house-made chips were delicious also!
As you can see, the Disney food truck invasion has something tasty for everyone! Check them out next time you are in Downtown Disney. I know I will be trying them AGAIN our next trip.
