Meet Tonya 
Hi! I’m Tonya Vega, a travel advisor based in Jupiter, Florida, and I have been with Travel With The Magic since May 2013. Travel has always been a huge part of my life, and I genuinely love everything about it, from discovering a new destination and stepping onto a new ship to researching the details and helping my clients plan vacations they are excited to take.
After more than a decade as a travel advisor, I still love the planning process. I enjoy comparing the options, working through the logistics, and putting all the pieces together to create a vacation that fits each client. No two travelers are exactly alike, and finding the right experience for each one is one of my favorite parts of the job.
Cruising and river cruising have become the heart of my business and where my passion truly lies, but my experience extends well beyond the ships. I plan guided land tours, all-inclusive vacations, Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani, and Universal vacations.

Those numbers tell part of the story, but continuing to travel is just as important to me as the trips I have already taken.
I Believe in Experiencing What I Recommend
I have a philosophy when it comes to being a travel advisor: If I recommend a ship, destination, or vacation experience to my clients, I want to know as much as possible about it. Very often, that means experiencing it myself.
I sail frequently on my own vacations because every sailing gives me another opportunity to learn. I want to experience different ships, stateroom categories, dining venues, entertainment, destinations, and onboard experiences so I can bring that knowledge back to my clients.
I have also been fortunate to receive special travel industry invitations to preview and tour new ships, giving me the opportunity to explore them firsthand and learn the details before or around the time they begin welcoming guests.
The more I experience these ships and cruise lines myself, the better I can help my clients understand the differences and choose the one that fits their vacation style.
Ocean Cruises, River Cruises & Everything In Between
Cruising may be my specialty, but no single cruise experience works for everyone. Sometimes the perfect vacation is a brand-new Royal Caribbean ship filled with entertainment and activities. Another traveler may want the service and atmosphere of Celebrity, the magic of Disney Cruise Line, an Alaska adventure, or a completely different experience aboard a European river cruise.
I work with Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Viking, AmaWaterways, and Princess. I help my clients look beyond price and itinerary alone. Ship size, stateroom location, dining, entertainment, onboard atmosphere, ports, included amenities, and even the vacation’s pace can make one option a much better fit than another.
River cruising is another part of travel I especially enjoy. It combines the ease of unpacking once with the opportunity to experience multiple destinations along the way, often bringing you directly into the heart of the places you have traveled to see. I help clients compare river cruise lines, itineraries, ships, excursions, and pre- and post-cruise options so they understand what is included and what makes each experience different.
Sometimes the best vacation doesn’t involve a ship at all. I also plan guided land tours throughout the United States and around the world, all-inclusive resort vacations, Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani, and Universal Orlando. My experience across different types of travel helps me see the bigger picture and help clients decide not only where they want to go, but how they want to experience it.
Planning With Me
My role does not end once your reservation is booked. From our first conversation until it is time to travel, I stay involved throughout the planning process, helping you navigate the details, keeping you informed of important dates, and offering personalized recommendations along the way.
For a cruise, that starts with making sure we have chosen the right cruise line, ship, itinerary, and stateroom, but there is so much more that comes after that. I help with dining, shore excursions, onboard packages, entertainment and reservation windows, check-in, transportation and pre- and post-cruise plans. Because I spend so much time sailing and touring ships myself, I can also share firsthand insight about the ships, stateroom locations, dining, destinations, and onboard experiences and help you decide what is actually worth considering for your vacation.
I especially enjoy helping with trips to Europe and destinations where there are more pieces to put together. I can assist with pre- and post-cruise hotels, transportation between cities, trains and transfers, tours and excursions, how much time to spend in a destination and the logistics that can sometimes be the most confusing part of international travel. When I have personally visited a destination, I love being able to share my own recommendations and experiences as well. Sometimes knowing where to stay, the easiest way to get from one place to another or whether adding an extra night somewhere makes sense can be just as valuable as choosing the trip itself.
That same personalized approach carries through whether I am planning a river cruise, guided land tour, all-inclusive vacation, Disney vacation or Universal getaway. I help sort through the choices, explain the differences, and recommend options based on the experience you want rather than simply giving you a list of what is available.
After more than a decade of planning vacations and traveling myself extensively, I have learned that some of the most valuable advice comes from the little things you may not even know to ask about. I never hand my clients a reservation and leave them to figure out everything else on their own. I am here to answer questions, offer recommendations, send reminders, and help put the pieces together every step of the way.
Why I Keep Packing My Suitcase
Travel never stops changing, and neither should my knowledge.
New ships launch, resorts open, cruise lines introduce new experiences, and destinations keep evolving. That is why you will regularly find me boarding another ship, touring a new one, visiting a resort, or exploring another destination. I want to experience what is new, see what’s changed, and come home with information I can use when advising my clients.
More than a decade into this career, I still get excited when I walk onto a ship I have never experienced before or arrive somewhere new. I love traveling, I love planning travel, and I love being able to turn that experience into better advice for my clients.
I also know that all of those years of experience have taught me one very important thing: there is no single best cruise line, ship, resort or destination. The goal is finding the one that is right for you. With over 75 cruises sailed and counting, there is a very good chance another ship is already on my calendar. I call it research.
Tonya is AMAZING! There were 12 of us traveling (6 were children) together and Tonya was such a joy to work with. We were on Disney Cruise ship. She guided us with patience, knowledge and enthusiasm.
