Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Almost every little girl dreams of being a Princess. At the Magic Kingdom, this dream can come true at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

In the Boutique, located inside Cinderella Castle, Fairy Godmothers-In-Training are ready to provide your child, aged 3-12, with a makeover – as either a Princess or a Knight. The magic starts at check-in where your child will receive a personalized invitation to their makeover (be sure to let them know if you are celebrating your child’s birthday, as this can result in a bit of extra magic!). If you choose, you can also purchase a Princess dress and your daughter will be able to go put it on at this time. (We wore dresses from home, and as you can see my younger daughter was channeling her inner Queen of Hearts).

You need to choose their package when you make the reservation. The package options include:

The Castle Package – which includes hairstyling, shimmering makeup and face gem, a Princess sash and tote, nail polish, the complete costume of your choice, and on 6”x 8” and four 4”x6” photos in a Princess themed holder,

The Crown Package – which includes everything above except the costume and photos,

The Courtyard Package– which includes the hairstyling, makeup, sash/tote, and nail polish but also includes a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique t-shirt and trendy tutu. There’s even a Knight Package for boys.

Once they are called to meet their own Fairy Godmother-in-Training, they will then get to choose their hairstyle. There are currently three to choose from – Fairytale Princess, Disney Diva and Color Star. Each hairstyle has extras additional perks with a little Disney flair.

During the makeover, PhotoPass photographers roam the boutique. You will receive a PhotoPass card for each child and if you have Memory Maker, it’s very easy to add these pictures to your account.

On our last trip, my girls chose the Fairytale Princess and the Color Star makeovers. The Color Star makeover is fairly new and has undergone some changes (there was previously a similar makeover called the Pop Princess). The Fairytale Princess hairstyle includes a shining tiara and a traditional Princess bun. The Color Star includes 2 color extensions and a funky, fun hairstyle.

Girls get to choose their makeup colors from a small palette and you will get to keep the extras. There are also a variety of face gems to choose from (and again, the extras are yours to keep). One recent change is that Tinker Bell has recently visited the Boutique, so there is no longer a choice in nail polish colors – they are all a beautiful sparkling color, full of Pixie Dust.

During the makeover, your daughter’s back is towards the mirror, so she cannot see her transformation taking place. When the time is right, she is sprinkled with Pixie Dust and turned around to see her amazing new look. PhotoPass photographers are there to capture the first view of herself as a Princess.

The Fairy Godmothers-in-Training are truly magical. On our last visit, both of my girls were treated like royalty. They were so happy with their makeovers and we were able to keep their hairstyle in for the remaining part of the day, and the next two. In fact, they only took their hairstyles out because they were dying to go swimming! With the extra makeup and facegem, we could recreate their look (with a little less pixie dust) in our hotel each morning before returning to the parks. Be sure to book your reservation early (reservations open 180 days prior) as the Boutique spots fill up quickly. And try to book a fun Princess themed meal afterwards. You have plenty of options – Cinderella’s Royal Table, Be Our Guest, and Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner are all wonderful choices.

A last tip? Be sure that you and your kids chat with their Fairy Godmother-In-Training. Our daughter informed her that we were celebrating my husband’s birthday on this trip but that he wasn’t wearing his Birthday button because his birthday was the day before. The Fairy Godmother-in-Training informed him that this was unacceptable and she would be correcting his error. Before we left, he was presented with his OWN kingly birthday button, complete with Pixie Dust.

Everything you own may (well, will) be covered in glitter afterwards, but a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will be a truly memorable moment on your Disney vacation.
