Disney Cruise Line Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 Itineraries: The Disney Wish Returns to New York

Disney Cruise Line has announced its fall 2027 and spring 2028 itineraries, and one of the biggest updates is that cruises from New York City are returning.
The Disney Wish will begin its first voyage from New York in September 2027, offering a limited number of cruises to Bermuda, Canada and New England, after which it will reposition to San Juan before returning to Port Canaveral.
The new schedule also includes more cruises leaving from Florida, Texas, California, Puerto Rico, and Panama. In Asia, the Disney Adventure will start offering some four-night cruises that visit Malaysia. This is different from the ship’s current cruises, which do not stop at any ports. The following information is essential for travelers regarding the itineraries recently launched by Disney Cruise Line.

Why the Disney Wish Sailing From New York Is Significant

Disney Cruise Line last sailed regularly from New York in 2023 with the Disney Dream. The 2027 season will be the first time the Disney Wish departs from New York. If you live in the Northeast, you can enjoy the Disney Wish without needing to travel to Florida. It’s especially easy for families who can drive or take the train to New York. Don’t forget to plan for parking, hotels, and getting to the cruise terminal. We’re here to help you with all these details.
These itineraries are different from the short Bahamian cruises many people expect from the Wish. Instead of Nassau, Disney Castaway Cay, or Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, the New York cruises visit Bermuda, Canada, and New England. This is an important difference. If visiting Disney’s island destinations is a priority for you, you might want to book a cruise from Florida instead. Our team can help you find the best ship and itinerary for your needs.

The Disney Wish Will Reposition From Europe to New York

Before arriving in New York, the Disney Wish will finish its first season in Europe. The Disney Wish will spend Summer 2027 hosting cruises to Europe from Southampton, Barcelona, and Civitavecchia, the port for Rome. The itineraries range between ten nights and include destinations in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Norwegian fjords, and the British Isles. New ports for Disney Cruise Line’s 2027 European season include Zadar in Croatia, Trieste in Italy, and Hellesylt in Norway.
After its European cruises, the Disney Wish will sail west across the Atlantic from Southampton to New York. This 12-night repositioning cruise links the ship’s European season to its short fall season in New York. A transatlantic cruise is quite different from the usual three- or four-night trips on the Wish. You’ll spend more time on the ship, with several days at sea, and you’ll need to plan for one-way airfare and a longer trip. This is a special experience where the Disney Wish itself becomes the main destination. Longer itineraries also give guests more time to enjoy the ship’s dining, entertainment, pools and adult spaces, including the Rainforest Room aboard the Disney Wish

The Disney Wish’s longer European and transatlantic itineraries will give guests more time to explore the ship.

Disney Wish Will Also Sail From San Juan

The last New York cruise leaves on October 31, 2027, stops in Bermuda, and ends in San Juan on November 5th.
From San Juan, the Disney Wish will offer a seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise starting November 5. Planned stops include Aruba, Bonaire, Dominica, and St. Maarten.
From San Juan, the ship will set out on November 12 for a four-night repositioning cruise which will end in Port Canaveral, making stops at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and Disney Castaway Cay.
These one-way cruises are a great choice if you want to spend extra time in Puerto Rico before or after your trip. They require more planning than round-trip cruises, so remember to include airfare, hotels, and transfers when you look at the total cost.

Disney Adventure Will Add Its First Malaysia Port Calls

Disney Cruise Line is also making a big change to some Disney Adventure cruises from Singapore.
Starting with the four-night cruise on December 31, 2026, some Disney Adventure trips will stop at Port Klang, Malaysia. There are 27 of these four-night cruises planned through the end of 2027.
Up to now, the Disney Adventure’s three- and four-night cruises have been cruises to nowhere. Guests boarded in Singapore, spent the whole trip at sea, and returned to Singapore without stopping anywhere else. The focus was on the ship and its attractions.
With the addition of Port Klang, guests can enjoy time on the Disney Adventure and also visit Malaysia. Port Klang is the cruise port for Kuala Lumpur, but the city is about an hour or more from the pier. Be sure to check excursion times and transportation options before planning your visit to Kuala Lumpur.
Not every four-night Disney Adventure cruise will stop in Malaysia. Check the ports for your specific cruise before booking.

Other Disney Cruise Line Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 Highlights

The larger Disney Cruise Line schedule includes about 270 voyages on the Disney Destiny, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Magic, Disney Treasure, and Disney Wish from September 2027 through May 2028.

Florida Cruises

Both Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale still offer a wide variety of Bahamian and Caribbean cruises. Cruise itineraries, depending on the ship, may include visits to Nassau, Disney Castaway Cay, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Mexico, and various ports in the Eastern, Western, and Southern Caribbean.
The Disney Treasure still mainly operates longer Caribbean cruises, while the Disney Destiny offers three– to seven-night cruises from Port Canaveral.

Galveston Cruises

The Disney Magic will keep sailing from Galveston, offering four-night, five-night and some seven-night cruises. Its itineraries in the Western Caribbean could include Progreso and Cozumel, while a selection of the longer cruises go to the Bahamas and to Disney’s island destinations.

San Diego and Panama Canal Cruises

The new schedule also features cruises going to California and Panama. Since these itineraries are limited, they could interest tourists looking for Baja, the Mexican Riviera, or alternative repositioning options different from Disney’s more usual Florida departures.
Because there are only a few of these cruises and the departure and arrival ports can vary, it’s important to compare airfares for the whole trip, not just look at the cruise price.

Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime Cruises Return

In the fall of 2027, Disney Cruise Line will be offering Halloween on its High Seas cruises and during the holiday season on the Very Merrytime Cruises.
Themed cruises usually have, in addition to the ship’s normal schedule, seasonal decorations, entertainment, character appearances, and activities. The specific arrangements and schedules, however, can differ from ship to ship.
If you want to take a holiday cruise, make sure your chosen departure includes the seasonal event you want. Not every cruise near Halloween or Christmas is a themed sailing. Our advisors can help you pick the right themed cruise for your Disney vacation.

At what time can guests book the itineraries of the new Disney Cruise Line?

Disney Cruise Line will use a tiered booking schedule for the fall 2027 and spring 2028 itineraries:
  • Monday, August 31, 2026: Pearl Castaway Club members
  • Tuesday, September 1, 2026: Platinum Castaway Club members, Golden Oak residents and Walt Disney World Club 33 members
  • Wednesday, September 2, 2026: Gold Castaway Club members
  • Thursday, September 3, 2026: Silver Castaway Club members, Disney Vacation Club members and Adventures by Disney Adventure Insiders
  • Tuesday, September 8, 2026: General public
The booking will open at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on each group’s eligible date.
Disney Cruise Line prices can change as cabins are booked. The lowest fare on the first day is not guaranteed, and the cheapest rooms may not work for every family. Be sure to check the itinerary, stateroom location, bedding, occupancy limits, cancellation terms, and the total cost of your trip. Itineraries, ports, dates, prices, and availability may change until a reservation is confirmed and a deposit is paid.

Which Disney Cruise Line fall 2027 or spring 2028 itineraries are right for you?

The cruises leaving from New York will likely be very popular because there are only a few, and they let many travelers from the Northeast cruise without flying to Florida. Cruises to Bermuda are a good choice if you want a shorter trip, while the Canada itineraries highlight the destinations and beautiful fall scenery.
For travelers who enjoy spending time at sea and want more time on board the Disney Wish, transatlantic crossings are the better option. Although the San Juan cruises offer itineraries more focused on destinations in the southern Caribbean, they require extra flight planning.
If you want to explore the ship and still visit a port, the Disney Adventure cruises that stop in Malaysia are a new option. Be sure to check if your chosen four-night cruise includes Port Klang, as not all Adventure cruises make this stop. Couples and adults traveling without children may also want to read more about cruising with Disney as adults.
There isn’t one perfect itinerary for everyone. The best choice depends on where you want to leave from, how long you want to travel, which ports you want to visit, your stateroom needs, and your budget.
