Disneytraditions

Disney World is a vacation that has something for everyone to enjoy and fall in love with. Once you are there, you will soon find favorite activities, rides and meals, creating your Disney Traditions! Here are 10 suggested Disney Traditions that my family enjoys each visit!

#1 Magic Kingdom on Your First and Last Park   Days

I recommend beginning and ending your vacation with high excitement. This is personal to each family. Take into consideration what you enjoy most at the parks, when deciding which one to choose first. This starts your vacation off on the right foot. I suggest ending your vacation at your favorite park, to get in all the fun right before you leave. Magic Kingdom is our favorite park! We love to begin and end our vacation enjoying all it has to offer.

#2 Starbucks Coffee & Pastries at Main Street Bakery

Who doesn’t love Starbucks? Grab a drink and baked good to enjoy for breakfast in the park. Some selections count as a snack credit, if you are on the Disney Dining Plan. You will find other Starbuck’s locations in the parks at Epcot’s Fountain View Cafe, Animal Kingdom’s Creature Comforts and Hollywood Studios’ Trolley Car Cafe, as well as two in Disney Springs.

#3 Ride Some of Your Favorites First

We typically start our days off with our favorite rides at each park. Some of our favorites are Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom, Spaceship Earth at Epcot, Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios and Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom.

#4 Monorail Ride

We can’t go to Disney World and not take a ride on the monorail. We usually catch a ride from Magic Kingdom to Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort. If we don’t have plans to dine there, we will take a ride around the Deluxe Resort loop. It’s my favorite mode of transportation at Walt Disney World.

#5 Fish & Chips in the United Kingdom Pavilion at Epcot

This is a family favorite of ours for quick service dining. Affordable and delicious! There are great quick service restaurants all over Disney. Grab a hot dog at Casey’s Corner or flatbread pizza at Pinnochio’s Village Haus in Magic Kingdom. Enjoy ribs at Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdom. At Starring Rolls in Hollywood Studios, the focaccia sandwiches are delicious. Don’t forget to grab a huge butterfinger cupcake for dessert!

#6 Disney Springs at Night

We love to head to Disney Springs for dinner at T-Rex Cafe, shopping and entertainment. Hollywood Studios is a good half day park while undergoing construction. Many families with small children choose to do EPCOT for a half day. These days would be great choices for spending the evening at Disney Springs. If you don’t have an evening free during the week, head there on your arrival day after you get settled in at your resort.

#7 Ice Cream at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop

Beaches & Cream is one of our favorite places to go for ice cream. Choose your own ice cream treat or share the Kitchen Sink! You can enjoy a meal at this table service location too! There is a selection of burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and salads. To ensure you can enjoy the fun, I highly recommend making an advanced dining reservation.

#8 Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

Fireworks at Walt Disney World are the best! Make sure to allow time in your itinerary to see them! They won’t disappoint!

#9 Hot Cocoa to Finish the Night

After we return to our Disney Resort, we grab our refillable mugs and head to the nearest drink refill station for late night hot cocoa.

#10 A Picture in Front of Cinderella Castle

When you think of Walt Disney World, you probably picture the castle! Make sure to capture the memory of your kids or whole family in front of the castle on each visit. Photopass photographers will take pictures for you and will even use your own camera to get everyone in the picture. It’s fun to look back at these moments over the years.
