L’Artisan des Glaces is a French ice cream shop found at the France pavilion in EPCOT at Walt Disney World. It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the world showcase, but is not to be missed!
Choose from 16 flavors, single or double scoop, in a cone or cup for a cool treat on a hot day. This shop didn’t open until noon the day I visited, but it was well worth the wait. Not only can you get ice cream here, but there is sorbet, macaroon ice cream sandwiches, and the very popular ice cream martini.
For this decedent dessert, you choose your ice cream flavor(s), and then a choice of either grand marnier, whip cream flavored vodka, or rum to top off your special treat.
Never having visited before, I asked the cast member what he would recommend for a good combination, and he proceeded to ask me about what flavors I do and don’t like. I ended up with one scoop of vanilla and one scoop of mint chocolate chip, covered in vodka. It was delicious and not too overpowering. I love that because there are 16 different flavors, there are endless combinations to try!
Note that while there is seating right outside the shop, it is very limited. I ended up across the pathway to the other side of the France pavilion so I could sit down and savor my delicious ice cream!
