San Francisco California is one place you must make time to visit in your lifetime. It is not only absolutely beautiful it is mesmerizing. This place is where almost any adventure you can think of is around the corner. There is a never ending amount of fun, entertainment, shopping, restaurants, people watching, and activities to keep you and your family occupied for days.
One of the first places you have to visit is the historical Pier 39. For one reason you have to drive on the infamous Golden Gate Bridge to reach this pier and to see this bridge in person, it is truly breathtaking! Pier 39 has been in existence for approximately 100 years! It was first opened in 1905 and then reopens about 1970’s after being rebuilt using other historical pier wood parts. Pier 39 is most famous and most visited for the chance to see its famous guests the sea lions they usually start arriving in late winter early spring.
The next place you must go to is the Fisherman’s Wharf. Any and everything is found in this area. From amazing seafood restaurants, World Famous clam chowder, endless amount of places to shop at, various candy stores along with the very famous Ghirardelli Chocolate store and ice cream shop, Ripley’s Believe it or Not Odditorium, free entertainment from the many performers who perform in many areas near the Wharf and it’s walkways, and this area is also a great place to eat brunch and drink Bloody Mary’s and the list goes on and on.
Another must see place to visit while on vacation at San Francisco, CA is Alcatraz!!! This is an absolute must see! There is so much history and now you are able to carry and listen to the history of Alcatraz on your very own listening device when you purchase a walk through tour of Alcatraz on Alcatraz Island. You can see inside a jail cell and walk throughout the grounds of this historical prison. There truly are no words and pictures just do not do it justice. Make sure you dress appropriately because it can get really cold once the sun goes down and the wind starts blowing.
Another adventure you must explore when visiting San Francisco is going on a trolley ride. Whether you want to just ride it to the next block or next historical site it is something you just must do. It can also take you to one of the local wineries wear parents can enjoy a glass or two of wine from a local winery and where some wineries sell special soda made from the grapes and they can do a soda sampling. Not only is there usually a wide variety of people who ride the trolleys you will also usually hear about some forgotten history story to pass the time. Let alone just riding on a trolley can be a lot of fun and a great and easy way to do some exploring.
