Have you ever found yourself looking for the perfect family vacation with enough activities for the kids and family but with plenty to do for the adults too? Look no further than the Oasis Class Ships on Royal Caribbean.   The Oasis, Allure and Harmony of the Seas are the largest cruise ships at sea and are a great way to get away and enjoy a great family vacation. I can go on and on about how amazing these ships are but I’ve narrowed it down to my top 10 reasons why you should sail on the Oasis Class Ships:

#10 Beautiful Beaches and Ports All 3 Oasis Class Ships sail out of ports in Florida to the Caribbean where you will enjoy beautiful beaches and ports with great weather year round.

#9 Fun for Grownups   Yes, I love spending time with my kids on vacation but I’m not going to lie-I also love when I get some grownup time! If you get a stateroom with a balcony-I suggest ordering some room service and kicking back with a good book out on the balcony while the kids are busy doing their own thing (see #2). There is also a huge casino, bars and lounges, comedy shows and other adult games and shows.   Don’t worry-you’ll get a call when the kids are ready to go to sleep and they are in great hands so you can enjoy yourself worry free!

#8 Endless Family Activities Want to play mini golf, rock climb, ice skate, hang by the pool, play bingo, do a little karaoke, learn to surf, play basketball, go zip-lining? Yep-you can do ALL of these on the Oasis Class ships. There is something for everyone!

#7 Dreamworks Experience It’s no secret that I love vacations that involve characters. On these ships you can meet your favorite friends from the movies Shrek, Penguins, Madagascar and Home. Your kids will love this! There are lots of opportunities to see these characters from character meals to parades in the promenade.

#6 Dining Choices You will never be hungry on an Oasis Class Ship! While there are the buffets by the pool and the main dining room there are also tons of food options from Sabor Taqueria and Taquila Bar, Chops Grill, Izumi Hibachi and Sushi (because I can’t go longer than a few days without my sushi fix) and lots of other options-you will love the food! Oh and did I mention 24 hour free room service for those moments when the kids are hungry and you just don’t want to get out of bed?

#5 Boardwalk The Boardwalk is a kid’s dream come true!   A huge carousel that they can ride day and night, Johny Rockets, a hot dog stand, arcade and rock climbing walls. Let’s just say I spent a LOT of time at the Boardwalk with my kids during our 7 night cruise. This was their favorite place to be other than the kid’s club (see #2!)

#4 Aqua Theater Can you imagine seeing a show with divers doing diving stunts from 30 feet up all while the ship is moving? I have to admit, looking up at these entertainers on their diving platforms while the ship is swaying side to side makes me weak in the knees just thinking about it-but wow does this make for amazing entertainment for the family! Adults and kids will be amazed by the shows in the Aqua Theater!

#3 Central Park I’ve been on lots of cruise ships but never have I seen trees and plants covering a substantial portion of a deck like you’ll find in Central Park, one of 7 neighborhoods on-board these ships. This is a great area of the ship to come day or night for some quiet time, to grab a drink or dine al fresco at one of the specialty restaurants that line this area. That’s right-I said al fresco-this area of the ship is open air so you can dine outside an look up at the stars. It’s amazing!

#2 Kid’s Club Having a few breaks during the day for the kids to play and for the adults to get a break is key to a successful family vacation. Royal Caribbean’s Adventure Ocean Youth Program starts at 3 years old and fully potty trained and has age appropriate activities up until age 11 and offers a tween and teen program. My kids begged us to go to the kid’s club throughout our entire vacation and when we picked them up they’d be dressed like pirates, have their faces painted, they performed shows for us and more.   Best of all-it’s included in the price of your vacation!

#1 Starbucks! When my family vacations we always have to position ourselves at a resort that is within close proximity to a Starbucks. Starting the day with a cup of joe from Starbucks is a necessity for my husband. On the Oasis Class ships you don’t even have to leave the house to go get your favorite drink! Just take the elevator the promenade and voila…an entire Starbucks Kiosk similar to what you’d find on land!   You know the expression “happy wife happy life”…well in our house it’s “happy husband with Starbucks Coffee, happy vacation!” This is why it’s my #1 reason to sail on the Oasis Class ships on Royal Caribbean.
