I’ve been asked a lot lately what all-inclusive resorts in Mexico are best for families traveling with young kids. There are so many wonderful resorts but I’ve narrowed down to 5 of my favorites. You will have loads of family fun at any of these resort options.
Paradisus Playa Del Carmen La Esmeralda: Having a great kid’s club is a must when traveling with little ones. I love this resort because it offers daycare services starting at 12 months old! Grown-ups need a little relaxation even when traveling with the family and having this childcare service for babies and toddlers gives you time to go to the spa, get in a workout or actually read a book on the beach while the kids are entertained by trained staff. I recommend choosing a room in the Family Concierge section which offers jr. suites and 1 bedroom suites. The Family Concierge service gives you access to a heated swimming pool and butler service to assist you during your stay in addition to other amenities exclusively for Family Concierge. They even have bottle sterilizing service if needed. They have a pirate ship playground in one of their swimming pools which is loads of fun for the kids and even kids spa treatments. There are 14 restaurants to choose from plus 24 hour room service so you will definitely find plenty of great food options for everyone in the family. Paradisus Playa Del Carmen La Esmeralda is located about 1.5 miles from 5th Avenue-Playa Del Carmen’s downtown area. There are lots of great shops, restaurants and bars in this area which is primarily a pedestrian walkway. It’s a great place to go for an evening out or an afternoon stroll.
Finest Playa Mujeres This luxury resort is located 25 miles from the Cancun airport on the white sandy beaches of Playa Mujeres. I love their family suites which have a king sized bed in the first room and a separate bedroom for the kids with 2 twin sized beds. They even have an option for a pool family suite that has a private swimming pool with a furnished terrace. This is perfect for families with babies and toddlers who need their nap time. Your older children can still enjoy the swimming pool or the adults can enjoy the sun while the kids are inside napping! Amazing right? The kid’s club starts at 3 years old and they have separate, age appropriate activities for 3-6 year olds, 7-11 year olds and a teen club for the older kids 12-15. Daycare is also provided during breakfast and dinner hours so that adults can enjoy a peaceful meal! If that wasn’t enough to convince you to book your trip to Finest Playa Mujeres-there is also a really amazing kids pool with a water slides and water features. You’ll also find 12 restaurants on property and you don’t need reservations to dine.
Azul Beach Resorts: Azul Beach and Azul Beach Sensatori are sister resorts by the Karisma Resorts group. Both resorts are located in Riviera Maya, about 20-25 minutes south of the Cancun airport. I especially love these properties for families with babies and toddlers. Both resorts have a My Gym on property where parents can take their little ones to play. They also have the Nickelodeon Experience which includes character interactions and meals with characters such as Dora The Explorer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob SquarePants. For families traveling with babies, these resorts offer lots of amenities for use during your stay from strollers to bottle sterilizers to baby monitors. Gerber baby food is even offered at all of their restaurants and naturally prepared baby food can be made upon request. Pair all of those amazing baby and kids activities with beautiful beaches and luxury accommodations and gourmet good and you have a winner with these resorts!
Royalton Riviera Cancun: Royalton Riviera Cancun is located close to Cancun, just a quick 15 minute cab ride from the airport. This is a large resort and if you like to hang by the pool, this is the resort for you. There are actually 11 swimming pools and a really great kids splash area with multiple child sized slides and play structures in the water. The Royalton has a kids club for ages 4-12 and a teen club for ages 13-17. Max and Ruby actually make an appearance at this resort as well! There are 9 restaurants at this resort. You can upgrade your experience at this resort by booking a room with Diamond Club service giving you lots of extra amenities at butler service. If you love your family vacation to the Royalton Riviera Cancun, you can return and stay at the Hideaway at Royalton which is the adults-only section of this resort!
Iberostar Paraiso Maya: One of 5 resorts in the Iberostar Playa Paraiso campus, this resort has a great beach, a wave pool and a lazy river! The family jr. suites at this resort are great for families with older children or for families of 5. These rooms are 2 connecting rooms with a king sized bed in the first room and 2 double beds in the second room. This gives everyone room to spread out. There are 5 restaurants and 2 buffets at this resort but when you stay here you can use the restaurants at the other resorts on campus. You’ll never have to leave this property with all of the options here.
