I sailed on the Carnival Ecstasy on December 13, 2013. It was a 4 day Bahamas sailing. I sailed with my husband and two kids. We stayed in an inside cabin. This was our first cruise on the Ecstasy. This ship is one of the smaller and older vessels in Carnival’s fleet. The Carnival Ecstasy is a part of Carnival’s Fantasy-Class of ships. The Ecstasy underwent a major refurbishment in fall 2009. The refurbishment featured the addition of a new wireless Internet café, a resort-style pool, an aqua park, an adult only section, mini-golf, an expanded Youth Program, a new coffee shop, and a sushi bar. The cabins were updated with new Carnival Comfort Bedding and flat screen TVs. Our cabin had twin beds that converted to a queen bed and two upper bunks. Although the cabin did seem smaller than other cruise lines that I have sailed, it was very clean and had great storage. The main public area has a New York Theme throughout. During our sailing the main areas were decorated for the holidays. During the last night of our sailing it snowed on the Promenade deck.
I was quite impressed by the entertainment on the ship. The variety of entertainment and activities were very expansive. Playlist Productions had different shows each night in the Blue Sapphire lounge. They even had family style shows that included The Hasbro Game Show. The Punchliner Comedy Club had adult only comedy shows. Other entertainment included; karaoke fun, family dance parties, piano bar party, and late night dancing in the nightclub. The ship also had a large casino with a variety of events such as Texas Hold’em and Blackjack tournaments. There is also a spa onboard and they offered different specials during the sailing. The kids program is part of Camp Carnival. My kids did attend the different activities offered by Camp Carnival and had a great time.
We had a great time on the Carnival Ecstasy! The food was fantastic and the staff was great! I would definitely recommend the Carnival Ecstasy to anyone looking to take an affordable weekend cruise. Let me help you plan your next vacation. Contact me at Tonyav@travelwiththemagic.com
