Exploring the American Southwest

The Grand Canyon makes an appearance on many people’s bucket lists, and areas in the Great American Southwest can be wonderful destinations for groups of any ages! These are locations that can be as relaxing or adventurous as you’d like, so there’s really something for everyone.

Sedona is an easy drive from Flagstaff or Phoenix airports, and there are many great places to stay in this town. Cool architecture, great spas, yummy food, and such a laid-back attitude. You can’t help but take a long deep breath and relax with scenery like this.

You can drive around and wonder at the landscape all day, and enjoy how the colors shift as the light changes. Do some stargazing in the wide open spaces at nighttime.

You can also get up very early for a sunrise hot-air balloon ride if you choose,

or go hiking, or take a Jeep ride out in the mountains or go mountain biking.

This really is a place that can be relaxing or exhilarating – whichever is your preference!

When you’ve finished with Sedona, the Grand Canyon is only two hours away.

Pictures never do justice to the size and majesty of the Grand Canyon. It truly takes your breath away! You can take in the many views from the top, or if you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike down into the canyon. It’s a long way down! Or you can hike down for a while, then come back up when you get tired.

There are also other great National Parks in the area, such as Zion or Arches, if you’d like to extend your trip with more sightseeing or even a rafting trip!
