Gluten Free at WDW Main

Walt Disney World has amazing food! If you have a gluten allergy you may be wondering if you will be able to enjoy your dining experiences while visiting. The answer is YES! Disney goes above and beyond for their visitors with food allergies. Here is an overview of what to expect when vacationing at Walt Disney World with a gluten allergy.

Where to Begin:

The first step is to add a note of your special dietary needs when making your dining reservations. Click the “Add” button for Special Requests and then, under Special Dietary Requests, click on any foods listed that may be an issue for someone in your party. This will add the information to your reservation, so upon arrival at the restaurant, they are made aware that someone in your dining party has an allergy or sensitivity. Dining reservations are something that your travel agent can help you with, so be sure to mention any dietary restrictions to your travel agent.

Quick Service Dining:

Most Quick Service restaurants will have an allergy-friendly menu that you may look over and order from. Simply ask when you reach the counter and they will advise you of the options available for you to order.

Table Service Dining:

Even if you added special dietary needs requests to your reservation, it is always good to indicate your dining restrictions upon arrival at the restaurant. Typically, a chef or manager will visit your table and go over options that they can prepare especially for you. If you are dining at a buffet, they will walk you through the food line and show you what is available for you to choose. Whether you have someone in your group that is a child or adult, there will be a variety of options available. In case you were wondering, they do have gluten free Mickey waffles!

You can find tasty snacks and treats throughout the parks. At Magic Kingdom, enjoy LeFou’s Brew from Gaston’s Tavern or a Dole Whip at Aloha Isle. Stop by L’Artisan des Glaces in the France Pavilion in Epcot for gluten free sorbets and ice creams. Located in the Discovery Island section at Animal Kingdom is a great little snack shop, Terra Treats. At Hollywood Studios snack on popcorn or a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar, which you can also find at all of the Walt Disney World Parks. Be sure to ask for gluten free options at the resorts as well. Gluten Free Disney Dining App:

This app is inexpensive and is a great tool to use while dining at Disney parks and resorts. This app provides menu options available, to help you decide in advance where you would like to eat. This is a third party app and not Disney sponsored, but one that many have found to be helpful.

Testimonies:

We had the opportunity to ask two of our gluten free clients a few questions about their experiences at Walt Disney World to help us give you a firsthand look at their experiences dining gluten free. They were amazed with the attention to detail and care they were given. The food options went above and beyond their expectations and they felt safe enjoying food that really tasted as good as it looked. Be on the lookout this fall for Gluten Free at Disneyland!
