If you are looking for a moderate level resort for your next Walt Disney World stay, consider Disney’s Coronado Spring Resort. My Colleague wrote this great review of her stay at Coronado Springs- check it out if you want to learn more about the resort itself. This blog will focus more on the Business Class option at Coronado Springs and why you might want to consider it for your next trip!
If you know anyone who has stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort, you have probably heard how big and spread out this resort is-and it’s true. It is very spread out just like many of the other resorts on Disney property. However, Coronado Springs has a very affordable upgrade option that will put you close to the main building and bus stops and some fun extras thrown in. So, don’t let the size of the resort scare you off-just consider a stay in a Business Class room at Coronado Springs! Also, don’t be fooled by the title of Business Class, the upgrade is perfect for a couple on a romantic getaway, or a family enjoying a vacation together.
All rooms at Coronado Springs include the same amenities you will find at the other moderate level resorts, such as two queen beds or one king-size bed, vanity area with sliding privacy doors, refrigerator and coffee maker, hairdryer, ironing board, desk and chair, flat screen TV, etc.
Business class rooms at Coronado Springs include everything in the list above plus these upgrades; upgraded mattresses (very comfortable!), additional shelving in vanity area, wood crown molding throughout room, DVD/Blu-ray player, bath robes and access to the Coconino Lounge (more info below). All Business Class rooms are located in the Cabanas section in building 9B which is closest to El Centro (the main building for check in, concierge, dining, and gift shops). In my opinion, the location alone is worth the upgrade. Many of the Value and Moderate resorts offer an upgrade to a preferred room, which is always worth it because it’s in a more convenient location. But, what is unique about the Business Class rooms at Coronado is that it takes the upgrade to a new level beyond just the location of the room and throws in extra amenities and experiences.
In addition to the upgraded room amenities, Business Class guests have access to Coconino Lounge, located in the same building as the Business Class rooms. The lounge offers a continental breakfast from 7am-10am and evening snacks (with beer and wine selections available) from 5pm to 10pm. Soft Drinks, juice, coffee and hot tea are also available. This adds some great value to your stay. We were on the dining plan when we stayed Business Class and it was nice to go grab a quick, easy, free breakfast each morning and not have to wait in the long lines at the quick service restaurant OR spend money or dining plan credits for breakfast. We also took advantage of the evening snacks a few times and enjoyed getting a chance to refuel before walking around in the parks all night! We stayed business class when I was about 11 weeks pregnant, so I was taking multiple naps per day. We would come back to the room, nap and rest, grab a snack from the lounge, and head out for extra magic evening hours for the rest of the night. The lounge is cozy and the attendants are friendly and knowledgeable about the resort and the parks. They have a few TV’s playing various movies and even some board games and books if you decide to stay while. We were usually in and out quickly, but I still appreciated the relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
We really enjoyed our stay at Coronado Springs as a Business Class guest. The resort itself was quiet and laid back. The Business Class rooms are on the other side of El Centro from the Convention Center (yes, there is a convention center at this resort) so that may have helped keep some of the noise down. The views were spectacular! The Business Class views will be either a water view or landscaping. Both are very pleasant and picturesque. I ended up taking a lot of pictures of the views at this resort because just about everywhere you turn is a great view. If you have the time, it’s worth taking a walk all the way around the property. Each section is uniquely themed and has some great Disney touches. And of course, like all Disney properties, the landscaping is beautiful.
From what I can tell, the guests who are staying at Coronado for an event at the Convention Center seem to be placed in the Casitas section which is right next to the Convention Center. I would definitely recommend staying in the Cabanas (where Business Class buildings are) over any other section. The Casitas section is beautiful but it does seem to house more of the Convention Center visitors and you would have to walk past the convention center to get to your rooms from El Centro. The Ranchos are the furthest away from El Centro. There is a bus stop close by but it’s quite a walk to El Centro to do anything….especially if you just need to refill your drink mug if you bought one or received one on the dining plan. I saw many weary people trekking across the property with multiple resort mugs in hand to get refills for the whole family and they all looked tired! The Cabanas are closer to El Centro and are probably the quickest and easiest to get to if you are driving. My only complaint about the Cabanas and Business Class location is that it was still a bit of a walk to the main pool area. But, the other amenities still make it worth it and outweigh a little bit longer walk to the pool (and at least it’s a pretty walk!)
Overall, our experience staying Business Class at Coronado Springs was wonderful and I would do it again without hesitation. It made for a relaxing stay and I really enjoyed the lounge access and close proximity to the main building.
I have stayed at value, moderate, deluxe, and deluxe villas at Walt Disney World and would love to help you decide where to stay on your next (or first) trip to Walt Disney World. Contact me any time to plan the vacation of your dreams- no matter what your budget!

Great article, thanks for posting about business class! We had to change our reservations from this month to the end of next month because I got sick and even though they couldn’t get us into the resort we originally picked, they got us into Coronado Springs and for only a teeny bit more money (and even though the Florida resident discount we had for this month would not be available next month, they still accommodated us) plus we got business class so I was curious about the free lounge that opens in the morning at night and found your post 🙂
