Over the past several months I have had the pleasure of getting to know Caroline Schafer the owner of Moms on Vacation Travel Club. Caroline’s website is about Moms taking the affordable mini break that they all need and deserve! As a Mom myself, I know that when I go away without my family I miss them but I come back recharged.
Tell us about you and your family?
I’m a stay-at-home mom of two little girls (4 years old and 21 months) who loves to travel. I’m a certified travel consultant (CTC) who has worked in the past for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a group travel planner. After having my two children, I realized how important it is to take a break from your family and go on vacation by yourself or with some of your girlfriends. As a mom, it gives you a chance to re-connect with yourself, relax and take a well-deserved break from motherhood. This is why I created the Moms on Vacation Travel Club.
Tell us about your company and why you started it?
I started the Moms on Vacation Travel Club after quitting my full time engineering job to stay home with my children. I wanted to spend more time with my kids and also use my skills as a group travel planner. My goal is to offer affordable vacation options for moms who need to take a break and get away from it all. The Moms on Vacation Travel Club is a place where moms can take advantage of free vacation planning for their mom vacations. We also organize group vacations for moms to join. Joining an organized group trip saves moms money and is a great place to socialize and reconnect. We are currently working on a social network where moms can chat, get to know each other and take advantage of great travel deals in their home state.
Do you have any upcoming events or promotions?
The Moms on Vacation currently has a few events planned.
- The first one is a one night stay at the Essex Culinary Resort and Spa in Vermont on September 12-13. The cost for this trip is $65. This is a great deal for all New England Moms!
- We are also hosting a 4 night cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas on November 4-8, 2010. This is a great escape, right before the madness of the holidays begin! The price for this cruise is $359.
- We are also co-organizing the Bloggin Mamas Cruise, April 29-May 2, 2011. This cruise is an educational and fun experience meant to bring mom bloggers together.
We are always looking for new trip suggestions. Become a fan of our Facebook Page and let us know where you want to go by writing on our wall!
