This past summer, the Minnie Vans were introduced as a new transportation option at the Walt Disney World Resort! These cute vans were added as a part of the Lyft app, and will take you anywhere you want to go on Disney property. As of October 2017, they are fully operational from all deluxe resorts on Disney property.
On my last vacation to Disney World, I had the opportunity to try this service out a couple of times and I can assure you – not only was it fun, but it was SO convenient!
After a night at the Boardwalk with some friends, we were tasked with getting from the Boardwalk to our resort, All Star Movies. If you are familiar with Disney’s bus transportation – getting from resort to resort can be pretty tricky! Upon entering the lobby, we downloaded the Lyft App (which is required in order to request a Minnie Van), requested our ride, and it arrived shortly after! By taking the Minnie Van, we arrived at our resort within 12 minutes – had we taken a Disney bus, we would’ve had to get to a park first, then taken a bus back to All Star Movies – a journey that would’ve taken at least an hour!
Requesting a Minnie Van through the Lyft App is incredibly easy and in the event you need assistance, the resort’s front desk is available to help you!
For a flat fee of $20, you can take a ride from any of the deluxe resorts to any location on Disney’s property – including the theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs, and other Disney resort hotels, and run from approximately 6:30 am to 12:30 am daily.
Disney is utilizing the Chevy Traverse for this transportation option, which seats up to 6 guests, and all vehicles come with 2 versatile car seats, for those who need them! The Cast Members who drive the Minnie Vans are fully trained in car seat installation safety, so you can rest assured that your little one will be safe!
After a full day in the parks, when you’re tired and your feet are achy, or when you’ve had a late dinner at a different resort than the one you’re staying at – the last thing you want to worry about is how you’re going to get back to your resort! Rest assured, Disney’s Minnie Vans are a fun, convenient and worthwhile transportation option!
