Savi’s Workshop is a little bit hard to find.  Since the Black Spire Outpost is under the protection of the First Order, the Resistance and Force sensitive beings have to remain hidden and out of sight.  The only way to find the shop is by looking for the Blue Lightsaber Banner outside the store.

Savi is very important to the Force, and was one of the original Gatherers.  The Gatherers are a group of people who have dedicated their lives to restoring balance in the Galaxy by passing on their knowledge of the Jedi and the Force.  They guide all those who seek this knowledge in building their lightsaber with the hope of keeping the flame of the Force alive.  They have gathered many relics and scraps, old and new, of the Jedi from across the Galaxy.  They use these scraps in making the lightsabers.  They are also in possession of the precious Kyber Crystals which fuel the lightsabers.   So, you see, Savi is very integral to the story here at Batuu!

But please don’t ask “Is this where we build a lightsaber?”  They will just simply respond.  “Scrap.  We deal in scrap.  Perhaps… we have the sort of Scrap you are looking for…”  They have to be very careful to keep the Workshop hidden from the Resistance!

Once you have located the shop and are ready to proceed purchasing your “scrap,” you must pay upfront and choose one of 4 themes for your lightsaber:

Peace and Justice:  This design honors the galaxy’s former Jedi guardians.

Elemental Nature:  This theme embodies the energy created by all living things.

Protection and Defense:  This theme reconnects the user with the ancient wellspring of the Force.

Power and Control:   This theme was originally forged by Dark Side Warriors and scraps from the Sith home world.

When you have given your credits and have chosen your theme, you will be given a card with your group designation, a lapel pin that signifies the theme you chose and a time to return.

Feel free to roam around and shop, just be back at your designated time!  When you come back, your group will be staged in the waiting area until the group ahead of you completes their session with the Gatherers.   The wait time is about 20 minutes.

When your time has arrived, the Gatherers will guide you into the workshop and give you the building blocks for the lightsaber theme you chose.  The kit includes:

1 Hilt

4 Sleeves (pick 2)

2 Emitters (pick 1)

2 Pommel Caps (pick 1)

2 Sets of activation plates and switches (pick 1 set)

A Gatherer then begins explaining the history of the lightsabers and allows you to pick a Kyber Crystal unique to you.  You can choose a BLUE crystal like Obi-Wan or GREEN like Yoda and Luke.  Maybe VIOLET like Mace Windu, or RED like the Sith Warriors.

It may all seem overwhelming, but the Gatherers are there to help, and together you all reveal and present your lightsabers!  You are now connected to the Gatherers and are a part of the Journey of the Force as it guides you!
