Disney’s Hollywood Studios is saying farewell to the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. This magnificent event has been a holiday tradition at Hollywood Studios for the past 20 years. It all started when the Osborne family from Arkansas offered Disney their light display. Each year the family’s light display grew bigger and more elaborate until it grew too big for their home. So in 1995 they handed over their display to Disney which became a permanent holiday exhibition for the past 20 years.

The display is made up of over five million lights and over sixty snow machines. This magnificent display is now going on nightly and will have its final Farwell on January 3, 2016. The magical display of dancing lights is on the Streets of Americas and starts around dusk each night and goes until the park closing. Park admission to Hollywood Studios is required, but there is not an additional charge to walk through the exhibit. The Merry & Bright Dessert party is being offered for an additional fee. Here you can enjoy specialty desserts and beverages while you are surrounded by dancing lights. Advanced reservations can be made through Disney Dining.

This extraordinary extravagant display of holidays has been an annual tradition for my family as well as many families alike. This year was very sentimental for me knowing this would be my last time experiencing this spectacular event. Walking through the Streets of Americas seeing the illuminations of the light display surrounding you is such a glorious feeling. Listening to the holiday music and watching the lights dance to rhythm is truly a magical site. It is amazing how the music is synced to the light display. One of my favorite things to do while walking through the exhibit is to find the hidden Mickeys. In true Disney fashion there are over forty hidden Mickeys throughout the display.
