Covering more than 500 acres with 250 different species and 1,700 animals, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is by size the largest park of the four that make up Disney World. Although it doesn’t have as many attractions as the other parks it more than makes up it for with animals. While it does have a few rides with height restrictions, many of the attractions here have none making it the perfect park for toddlers and it’s a bonus to me that this park very hands on and educational. As you read through the list I have compiled I hope you will leave your feedback with your thoughts.
Kilimanjaro Safaris – Africa – Have you ever been arm’s length from a giraffe? Board your open air safari vehicle and descend into the 110-acre Harambe Wildlife Preserve with your private guide to point out the over 34 species of African wildlife that freely roam each day. Everyone must ride this at least once, preferably in the morning when the animals are most active, but I suggest multiple trips because each ride into the wild is different!
Festival of The Lion King – Africa – Take a seat in the all new air conditioned Harambe Theater to watch this live Broadway style production of the popular move The Lion King.
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail – Africa – Take a stroll with your little one in through the lush pathways where you can see and learn about more African animals including hippos, gorillas, monkeys and exotic birds.
Wildlife Express Train – Africa – All Aboard! Take a break and enjoy this leisurely ride that takes you on a backstage journey of the park where you can see some of the veterinary and housing facilities. Rafiki’s Planet Watch is the ultimate destination at the end of the tracks where you can visit the Conservation Station, Affection Station and Habitat Habit.
TriceraTop Spin – DinoLand U.S.A – Pop into one of the 16 dinosaurs and fly above DinoLand U.S.A. with a bird’s eye view of this carnival themed area. If you have older children too, this ride is perfect to do while they are on Primeval Whirl.
The Boneyard – DinoLand U.S.A. – At this site children ages 10 and younger can uncover bones, scale across rope bridges and crawl through massive dinosaur bones in this larger than life dig-site themed playground.
Finding Nemo – The Musical – DinoLand U.S.A – Join Nemo and Dory in this eye popping theatrical puppet show that’s sure to please everyone in your family.
