Disney Magic leaves Galveston

Saturday was the first sailing of the Disney Magic from Galveston.  Radio Disney was having a Sail Away Party  so we grabbed the kids and drove on down (luckily, I only live 45 minutes away!). The Radio Disney part was very fun.  They were handing out Nemo 3D glasses and magnets and Jake and the Neverland Pirates bandanas.  They even had a couple of games set up - putt putt and football. With Hurricane Irene approaching the US several news outlets are reporting the Carnival and Royal Caribbean left San Juan today early because the port decided they needed to leave BUT they did not notify some passengers. These passengers were left there and from what I am reading online those who did not have insurance will have to pay out pocket for hotels and air back home. I know that travel insurance is expensive but I but it better than paying for hotels and Air in this situation.
