I grew up spending summers on the Jersey Shore. One of my favorite meals down at the shore was an old fashioned clam bake. Now that I live in Texas I don’t get to enjoy clams or clam bakes very often so when I head to Walt Disney World the clam bake dinner at Cape May Café is on my list every time!
Cape May Café (named after Cape May, New Jersey) is located at the Beach Club Resort. This makes it a convenient option for a dinner when visiting Epcot or Hollywood Studios. It’s just a short walk from the World Showcase entrance of Epcot or a quick boat ride from Hollywood Studios.
Dinner here is all you care to eat. While seafood is the theme there are many other options as well along with an extensive children’s buffet. The steamers side of the buffet offers clams, mussels, shrimp and crab legs along with all the fixings for a great clam bake – corn on the cob, corn bread, melted butter and pots for shells.
Several different kinds of fresh salads are also available with choices such as watermelon and feta cheese all the way to classic Caesar. A nice selection of cheeses and vegetables are offered as well. You’ll also find several soups to choose from.
Moving over to the meats and sides you’ll usually find a carving station with roast beef, a salmon dish, pastas and several different kinds of chicken and other beef dishes. All of these are accompanied by an assortment of vegetables, potatoes and bread.
Make sure to save room for dessert! The dessert buffet is so large it has its own space in the room. Bite sized cakes, tarts, pies and cookies are available as well as brownies.
Please note not all of the above are available every night – dishes do change based on chef’s selections.
Cape May Café does participate on the Disney Dining Plan and will utilize 1 table service entitlement per guest.
