There are many details to be taken care of when you are planning a Disney World vacation. Here are some of the important dates to remember as you begin to plan.
Book Your Vacation
When you’re considering taking a vacation to Disney World, I recommend booking sooner than later. This will give you the best choice of resort and room options. Even when you book early, you don’t need to worry that you are getting the best price. If a discount is released that can be applied to your package, your TA will work to make that adjustment for you. You can book room only reservations as early as 499 days in advance of your intended check out date. If you would like to book a vacation package, that can be done 499 days in advance as well, once the package pricing for the next year has released. Typically, pricing is released for packages towards the end of June or early July.
Half of the fun of going to Disney World is the amazing food! Table Service Dining Reservations can be made 180 days in advance at 6:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. If you wish to have the first choice for some of the most popular dining experiences, it is important to make your reservations at that time.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and The Pirates League
If your child would love to have a princess, knight, pirate or mermaid makeover, it is highly recommended that you reserve an appointment 180 days in advance. These experiences fill up quickly, so you won’t want to miss out. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has 2 locations, one in Magic Kingdom and one in Disney Springs. The Pirates League is located in Magic Kingdom near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. If you wish to reserve an appointment at one of the locations inside the Magic Kingdom, park admission is required for that day.
You can “reserve” a FastPass ride or attraction and time 60 days in advance at 7:00 AM Eastern Standard Time for guests staying at a Walt Disney Resort hotel. Each guest may begin by choosing 3 FastPass selections to reserve for each park day. These must be made in the same park. After the third has been used you may reserve an additional FastPass. Any FastPasses chosen after the initial 3 can be made at the same park or another park if you have the Park Hopper Option added to your tickets.
Paying Off Your Vacation and Customizing MagicBands
Your final balance for your Walt Disney World vacation will be due 30 days prior to check-in. This is also the time that your MagicBands will begin to be processed and sent to you about 2-3 weeks before you travel. Be sure to go into your My Disney Experience account and customize your bands before that date to ensure each guest gets the color they wish. If you do not select a color before that time, each person will receive a grey MagicBand.
Purchasing Memory Maker gives you access to unlimited digital Disney PhotoPass photos captured throughout Walt Disney World. If Memory Maker is purchased at the advance purchase price, any photos taken within 3 days from the date Memory Maker is purchased will not be included and must be purchased separately. So, be sure to purchase Memory Maker before the 3 day mark of when you plan to start having photos taken to ensure all of them will be included.
