Making memories is the main objective for most people and families when they venture to a Disney Park for vacation. Sometimes vacation can seem like it only lasts for a few moments even if your trip lasts for days. Here are a few ways that you can make the most out of capturing moments of time to cherish forever.
Anyone remember the song “Making Memories” from the Disney Sing Along Songs VHS? Well if you do then you know that taking pictures is making memories! Taking photos is a huge part and given for any vacation, but there are so many unique opportunities for a Disney World Vacation! First and foremost, Disney offers Photo Pass which is a service of photographers all around Disney World who takes photos for you! After they take the photos, they scan your magic band or hand you a photo card. During your trip if you purchase Memory Maker (another Disney service that allows you to see and purchase Photo Pass photos) you can even download those photos straight to your phone from you My Disney Experience App! Of course you don’t have to use Disney’s Photo pass service! You can easily bring your own camera, or even just your cell phone, to take tons of photos throughout the park. I always suggest making a photo album after a trip so you can easily look through your vacation moments!
Another fun way to capture memories on vacation is by video taping! What once was known as home videos, is now known as “vlogging”. When you vlog through out Disney World you are not only capturing full moments to relive, you have full creative freedom of creating something in your style. This is such a big thing now, that we even have Youtubers who vlog all their adventures exclusively to Disney! I personally love filming throughout the parks because I can look back at my daughter as she grows, and revisit her reactions to rides and characters. Plus it’s always fun to look back and re-watch videos from certain time periods of your life!
One unique way to make your a memory during your vacation is through your outfits. Instead of doing matching outfits for the whole family every single trip (Personally I love this trend, but if you do it every year, it’s just not special), Disney Bound instead! Have you ever heard of Disney Bounding? Disney Bounding is when you take a Disney character and dress similar to them or create an outfit inspired by them! If you pick a new character to do, or theme your outfits differently per day and per park, you’ll definitely remember the little things and little compliments that you got throughout the day!

I’m not talking about a stuffed Minnie Mouse or key chain, I’m talking about special souvenirs that make you specifically think of a certain trip or time. For example, every vacation that my family takes to Disney, we get a pin from the Resort that we’re staying at during that trip. This is special to us because we try to stay at a new Resort every vacation we go on, and collecting the pins reminds us of where we’ve been and memories while we were there. Other great souvenirs are photo frames with the current year on it. This is great for a family photo, and you could easily grow a collection of these!

Lastly, a great way to make memories on a Walt Disney World trip is to do something new! It’s easy to try to do the same things during each and every trip. The one thing my family tries to do is to do one new thing that we haven’t done ever before. For example, last year my family went during the International Flower and Garden Festival, during the festival we made real flower crowns in the convention center and wore them for the entire day! This is something you can only do exclusively during the Flower and Garden Festival and we were so excited to do something new that we have never done before! Doing new things on each vacation allows that time to become a special place in your memories.
