Re-imagined Pool Space on the Disney Magic

A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to sail on a two night cruise aboard the re-imagined Disney magic. I got to see so many great new re-vamped spaces while onboard, but I wanted to focus on just the pool spaces for this post.

The highlight of the pool deck would have to be the new Aqua Dunk waterslide. This slide is like no other Disney Cruise Line slide, and is for the thrill seekers. You are put in a clear chamber where the floor drops out from under you, and then you go down and over the side of the ship before coming to a stop. Wow! I did not attempt this ride, but did watch several people come down who looked like they were having a great time.

At closer look, you can see just how far over the side this slide goes.

Just like all Disney slides, there is a height requirement, and some rules to follow.

Another great addition to the ship are strategically placed covered areas for shade up on deck ten. I thought this was a great idea for those who wish to be in the shade but can’t find a table or chairs available on deck nine, or for those who want a little more quiet than being right by the pool.

If you head over to the kids pool, you will notice a totally re-imagined space, complete with a new slide called the “Twist n’ Spout”. Donald’s nephews are at it again, and can be seen around this new space. (Can you see them on the bottom of the pool)?

There is a cool new water play area for the kids called the Aqualab, as well as a splash zone for the smallest cruisers.

Everyone seemed to be having a great time on the pool deck, and I think the new additions are something the Magic really needed, and will help it to remain a family favorite for many years to come.
