How does your family celebrate Halloween? Do you dress up and go trick-or-treating? Maybe have a party? Enjoy watching the costumes around your neighborhood?

Well, this is the year to take it up a notch!

From mid-September until Halloween, Walt Disney World hosts a really fun party for the whole family, and you should join in the fun this year. Here are some great reasons why:

1. Dressing up with the family

Costumes are not just for the kids at this event. Get the whole family involved! It’s so much fun to plan your costumes – especially when you have all the Disney movies for inspiration. And it’s a hoot to walk around and see all the great costumes that people are wearing!

2. Enjoying the decorations

Magic Kingdom is so pretty, all decked out for fall and Halloween. Be sure to enjoy the decorations in the daytime AND the nighttime!

3. The parade

6 Reasons Attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Disney really knows how to do a parade, and this one is very special! You can’t see this parade without a party ticket. The whole thing gets kicked off by the Headless Horseman galloping down the street, followed by tons of characters, dancing ghosts, and of course Mickey himself! The whole family will get in the “spirit” of the holiday, and it’s “Not So Scary”, so the little ones won’t be afraid.

4. The magical photo ops

Disney has PhotoPass photographers throughout the park to take professional photos of you and your family all day, every day. But at the Halloween party, you can have some special magical effects added to your pictures for a really cool keepsake! You can also add ALL your family’s photos to your vacation package, by purchasing the Memory Maker photo package before your trip for only $169.00.

5. Watching Disney’s cast members have a great time

During the party, some of Disney’s cast members get to dress up too, and you can tell they are having a great time. It just adds an extra bit of excitement (ghoulish delight, if you will) to the day!

6. Trick-or-Treating, Disney style

During the party, there are designated areas set up for the kids to trick-or-treat. They even provide treat bags, so you don’t need to worry about bringing them on your trip. This is a great way for the little ones to practice their Halloween manners before the Big Night, too.

There are also special “Villains” shows and fireworks, fall-themed snacks, and more fun!

Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are on sale right now, so this is a perfect time to start planning your trip to Disney World. Party tickets are $68-$87 per person, and the party will be held on the following dates:

September 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27
October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31
