The Rainy Day Cavalcade at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

2015-01-23T06:00:00-05:00January 23, 2015|Disney Travel, Disney World|0 Comments

Perhaps you have been in The Magic Kingdom on a very rainy day, or have been caught in the inevitable brief afternoon shower. In all my visits to The Magic Kingdom over 30+ years, I was fortunate enough to have never been caught in the rain for the 3:00 parade (How did that happen?!). That is, until this year. It was supposed to be my 3-year-old daughter’s first parade, because 3:00 in the afternoon is usually when we’re back at the hotel taking a nap. But, I rearranged our schedule this time so she could watch it for [...]

Dining at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa

A vacation to Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa is a tropical getaway. In a lot of ways, the vacation experience is similar to a Disney Cruise vacation – tropical beaches, lots of included entertainment, a complimentary kid’s club, etc. But one major question that comes up when booking an Aulani vacation is what do I do for food? While there is not a dining plan (like at the Disney parks) and the food isn’t included (like on a Disney Cruise), there are still a wide variety of options to choose from in a wide range of prices. Resort Refillable [...]

Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa

2023-10-03T17:13:27-04:00December 26, 2014|Disney Travel|0 Comments

Everyone knows Disney has theme parks but did you know that Disney has 3 resort properties that stand alone from the parks? These include Disney’s Vero Beach Resort in Florida, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina and the newest property, Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa located on the island of Oahu. One of the first differences you may notice is the name. In all the other resort names, Disney comes first. This is not true at Aulani. Here, Hawaii is first from the moment you arrive on property and read the sign [...]

Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine

2014-12-05T06:00:00-05:00December 5, 2014|Disney World, Hollywood Studios|0 Comments

Disney Junior Play’ n Dine is character breakfast at Hollywood & Vine, located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. On our recent visit we ate there for breakfast. We made reservation in advance using the My Disney Experience app on my smartphone. This has been on my daughter’s wish list for years. This character dining features Disney Junior’s pals: Jake and the Never land Pirates, Sofia the First, Handy Manny, and Doc McStuffins. This is a very upbeat and interactive breakfast. It was more like a breakfast party! The host leads the guest in singing and dancing throughout breakfast. The characters make [...]

Tips for running a runDisney race

2014-02-21T07:00:00-05:00February 21, 2014|Disney Travel|0 Comments

I have been running with runDisney since 2010, and I have run in every race weekend on both coasts except for the Expedition Everest 5k weekend. Over the years, I have made some mistakes, but also learned a lot of how runDisney operates, an dhow to make your race weekend the most fun and memorable one ever. Expo: Try not to wait until the last day to get to the expo, because popular official merchandise may (and has in the past) run out. Make sure you leave yourself enough time to browse around, there are so many vendors and booths [...]

My Disney Trip: Through the Eyes of a Child

2013-12-23T07:00:00-05:00December 23, 2013|Disney Travel, Disney World|1 Comment

I have many Walt Disney World trips under my belt, but 2009 was the first year we visited as a family of 4. Our boys were 5 and almost 2 years old. Trying to think of the perfect “Disney trip tradition”, it didn’t take long to figure out that a review or interview might be an amusing way to document Disney memories for years to come. Last year, I took my oldest on a special Mom and Son trip- his 2nd visit. When we came home, I asked him the same questions. It was so fun comparing the answers and [...]
