Universal’s CityWalk is full of live entertainment, shopping, dining and more! Located just outside of the Universal Orlando theme parks, you do not need park admission to take advantage of exploring the CityWalk area. Perfect for enjoying a day away from the parks, grabbing a bite to eat during a break from the parks, or enjoying some after hours entertainment while staying on property or in the Orlando area. While there are so many great places, you can’t help but notice one of the newest additions to CityWalk, Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen. This large chocolate factory style restaurant is not to be missed.
Before visiting you should know the story of Professor Doctor Penelope Tibeaux-Tinker Toothsome:
Jacques landed the dirigible in front of the small cottage home in London, England. Professor Doctor Penelope Tibeaux-Tinker Toothsome was overjoyed to share her experiences and experiments with her family.
She quickly stepped from the cockpit of the airship and dashed up the cobble pathway. She threw open the front door, soaking in her childhood home.
Except…It was empty. All that remained was the old Victrola in the corner of the living room.
Penelope stepped into her mother’s kitchen recalling the first time she ever tasted chocolate. There was a song in her head. She couldn’t recall the name of it, but it was French and Jazzy. There on the kitchen floor was a note from her parents.
Dearest Penelope,
We have set out to join you in your adventures. Surely the world isn’t so big that we can’t find you. We shall look for you wherever chocolate can be found.
Love,
Thomas & Violette Toothsome
Penelope knew immediately what she had to do. She would take everything she knew about chocolate and develop a fully industrialized, state-of-the-art chocolate emporium! Until the day she was reunited with her family, she would share her love and knowledge of chocolate with the world!
With the old Victrola in her arms, Penelope made her way back to the dirigible. Jacques quickly lifted them into the air. They were off to chase their destiny and find the perfect location of the world’s foremost chocolate emporium. There would still be discoveries to be made, but she was determined to make them all.
That is the story of Professor Doctor Penelope Tibeaux-Tinker Toothsome. Or at least… so I’ve been told.
Now that you know the story, let’s explore this awesome place!
Amazing atmosphere! This 19th-Century steampunk themed restaurant offers both savory and sweet selections with a full-service restaurant, bar, and confectionary. There are two levels to enjoy! The lower level is where you will find souvenirs, chocolate treats and indoor & outdoor seating for dining is available. The upper level has a bar and indoor seating for dining with great views of CityWalk below.
Savory dishes on the menu include salads, soups, flatbreads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, chicken, steak, quiche and even a few sweet additions to order like crepes, waffles and french toast. Something to please everyone.
While the savory selections serve up great flavor, you’ll want to save room for dessert! Desserts on the menu include chocolate bread pudding, chocolate cake, chocolate cream pie, chocolate cream, chocolate creme brulee, French chocolate mousse and an incredible selection of sundaes and shakes. While all the desserts look wonderful, I have to say the shakes are like nothing you’ve ever seen. They are huge, enough to share, or not! And topped with extra treats like rice crispy treats, cheesecake, chocolate covered bananas and whole cupcakes!!
Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!!! You’ll feel like a kid in a candy store…literally! There are so many delectable treats to cure your sweet tooth: Caramel apples, macarons, cookies, candies, amazingly decorated cupcakes and chocolate creations. Pre-packaged goodies are available: candy-coated marshmallows, cotton candy, sugars and chocolate bars or fill a collectible jar with sweets of your choosing.
Remember…it’s never too early for chocolate and there’s no shame in eating dessert first!
Are you ready to chase your destiny and plan a visit to the chocolate emporium? I recommend booking a stay at one of Universal Orlando’s amazing resorts, enjoying Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and the new water park, Volcano Bay. And of course, visiting the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen!
