Flying Fish Café is a restaurant that does not get a lot of love in the Disney Community. Now let me preface this statement by saying I do not mean that Flying Fish receives poor reviews. What I mean is that it is not a restaurant that a casual Disney fan has heard much about. Personally Disney thinks that they have the “best kept secret” however for me Flying Fish is my “best kept Disney Secret”.

As I strolled down the Boardwalk on a midsummer’s evening I had butterflies in my stomach in anticipation for my meal at Flying Fish Café. This is a restaurant that I had walked by hundreds of times but never had I taken the time to sit down and dine here. Boy was I missing out…

When you walk in you are greeted with a wave of different stimuli, from the smell of the kitchen, sound of the diners chatter, to the beauty of what looks like a roller coaster turned into a restaurant this place was breathtaking!

After I confirmed my reservation the hostess took my guest and I  to our chefs counter table. This is what we requested , we wanted to be close to the action. I really recommend this, it’s a great option especially for foodies!

To start out our waitress brought our bread and took our drink orders.

The bread was okay nothing to rant home about (not Le Cellier’s Pretzel bread that’s for sure) but overall it was okay the meal only went up from there!  To start out we ordered the Cheese Plate and the mussels…

This Cheese Plate was simply incredible the best Cheese Plate I have ever had in my entire life even my date loved it and she doesn’t like Cheese all that much! It truly was something special! The mussels were very good too not the best that I’ve ever had but significantly better than what I’ve had on property in the past! We then went on to order our meals I ordered their “Signature Flying Fish Café” special this consisted of their Signature Crispy Maine Cost Jonah Crap Cake, Caesar Salad, Signature Potato-Wrapped Red Snapper, Char-crusted Angus New York Strip Steak, and the Signature Flying Fish Café Caramelized Banana Napoleon. My date ordered the Pork Tenderloin and the Trio of Concession Sweets – Out on the Boardwalk…

Overall everything was fantastic it only got better as the night went on. The New York Strip cut like a Filet I would argue the best steak on property. The Red Snapper was equally as good. Both desserts were excellent and the Out on the Boardwalk was the best-presented dish that I have ever had! It truly felt like something I would have seen on the food network really a must for foodies! This restaurant became hands down my favorite on WDW Property the atmosphere I mean when you looked outside the windows there was a man twirling fire on the Boardwalk to the food all were spectacular! This really should be talked about more often in the Disney Community really a “ Hidden Gem”!
