There is nothing more magical than Walt Disney World during the holiday season! There are so many wonderful things to do and see at the theme parks, it is sure to put you in the holiday spirit. If you are wondering what to do when you are not visiting a park, let me share some of the magical happenings you can enjoy at Disney Springs during this holiday season!
First, you must take a stroll through the Christmas Tree Trail, new to Disney Springs this year. Stop by Starbucks for a peppermint mocha or hot chocolate to sip on during your walk through this winter wonderland filled with adorable Disney themed trees. Holiday music plays in the background while snow gently falls above. You will find the entrance to the Christmas Tree Trail in the Marketplace near Mickey’s Pantry.
There are 15 different trees along the trail:
- Mickey & Minnie Mouse
- Disney Villains
- Lilo & Stitch
- Beauty and the Beast
- The Little Mermaid
- Cinderella
- Mary Poppins
- The Princess and the Frog
- Frozen
- The Jungle Book
- Mulan
- 101 Dalmatians
- Tangled
- The Muppets
- Alice in Wonderland
Each tree has so much personality. Be sure to take a few moments to get a closer look at the details.
Stop by Santa’s Chalet to meet Jolly Old St. Nick! You can find him in the Marketplace across from the Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop. When meeting Santa, there is a simple process to follow.
- Check in at the podium.
- Receive a pager from one of Santa’s helpers.
- Shop! Eat! Enjoy!
- When you receive a page from Santa’s helpers, return to the podium within 10 minutes.
- Take your place in line to meet Santa!
It’s just that easy! What a fun Disney memory for your children to meet Santa, tell him their Christmas wish and capture a keepsake photo. You can take your own pictures or use PhotoPass. If you purchased Memory Maker, these photos will be included.
A new holiday show lights up the sky at night at Disney Springs this year! Starbright Holidays – An Intel Collaboration is a spectacular nighttime holiday show that is sure to not disappoint. Holiday music plays while 300 drones illuminate the sky and create a beautiful display. It’s absolutely amazing! For the best viewing, find a spot near the West Side Dock by the waterfront. Nightly performances will be running now through January 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m..
While these are my top 3 must see experiences at Disney Springs this holiday season, there are several other experiences to check out. There’s a nightly tree lighting ceremony at the Once Upon a Toy fountain play area as well as a holiday-themed DJ dance party with games and activities. Enjoy live entertainment, carolers and the toy soldier and snowflake stilt walkers. Disney Springs is alive with festive charm all around. Beautifully decorated holiday trees, lights, garland and so much more to immerse yourself in the joy of the season! If you are visiting Walt Disney World around the holidays, make plans to spend some time at Disney Springs.
