Washington DC

2015-04-17T06:00:00-04:00April 17, 2015|Travel Destinations|0 Comments

Recently, I had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. with my family to do some sightseeing. We flew in to Reagan International airport late on a Thursday night. We stayed at a Fairfield Inn in Chinatown. While I highly recommend the hotel- the staff was friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable- I have reservations about recommending the area. Chinatown was pretty rowdy over the weekend. There are lots of homeless in the area. Typical of a big city and I'm not sure it's different anywhere in the quadrant surrounding our nation's government, but there might be better areas [...]

Spring Break in New York City

2015-04-03T06:00:00-04:00April 3, 2015|Travel Destinations|0 Comments

This year for our family Spring Break vacation we traveled to New York City. We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria which is located in midtown. The hotel is located just blocks from Rockefeller Center, Time Square, 5th avenue shopping, and several popular New York sites. The Waldorf Astoria is one of New York’s luxury historical hotels and takes up and entire city block. I was struck by the beauty of this hotel. We stayed in a luxury guest room which had a sitting area, king size bed, pull out sofa bed, two closets, marble bathroom, a terrace, and a kitchenette. [...]

2015-03-24T06:00:00-04:00March 24, 2015|Travel, Travel Destinations|1 Comment

Whether this is your first cruise, or your tenth, you'll find some useful tips here to improve your upcoming trip! 1. Get your passport. On my recent cruise on the Carnival Magic, the embarkation lines were crazy long. Once we got through the ID checkpoint and into the line for room keys, my group was singled out and moved into a different (much shorter!) line. Why? Because we had two things going for us: we had passports and we did the 2. Online check-in. You can give the cruise line all your information ahead of time, print out a boarding [...]

The Atlantis-Paradise Island, Bahamas

2015-03-18T06:00:00-04:00March 18, 2015|Travel, Travel Destinations|0 Comments

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Paradise. Well, Paradise Island in the Bahamas, but it’s pretty close to Paradise! You’ve seen this hotel in movies and on commercials. It’s made to look like as though it rose from the ocean. It’s a very large resort with beautiful architecture. There is some of the bluest water in the world in the Bahamas. One of my friends even called it “Aqua Marine” and I believe she is right! There are also some of the friendliest people there that I’ve ever encountered at the Atlantis! The staff at the Atlantis all seems [...]

Oatman Ghost Town

2023-09-29T18:03:50-04:00February 16, 2015|Travel Destinations|0 Comments

Oatman is one of the few actual “living” Ghost towns in existence still today. This Ghost town is located in Oatman Arizona and still has many of its original buildings and dwellings. Some of these historical buildings include Oatman Post office, Oatman Hotel, and the Oatman Theatre just to name a few. The Oatman Hotel is where the infamous Clark Gable and Carol Lombard stayed after their wedding in Kingman, Arizona. They loved this hotel so much it is said they returned year after year to stay. The Oatman Hotel is also where many have seen and heard whispers from [...]

St. Kitts

2015-02-06T06:00:00-05:00February 6, 2015|Travel Destinations|0 Comments

I was fortunate to visit the island of St. Kitts during our summer cruise. St. Kitts is an island in the West Indies. The West side of the island is on the Caribbean Sea and the Eastern side of the island is on the Atlantic Ocean. The island is part of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles. The Island is full of tropical beauty. The island has lush rainforests, waterfalls, a dormant volcano (Mount Liamuiga), white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and tropical wildlife. Our cruise offered a variety of shore excursions from jeep tours of the island, rainforest [...]
